First pregnancies are often a time of great excitement and great uncertainty, but for expectant moms in 2020, being pregnant comes with a whole new set of questions and concerns. Luckily for Katherine Schwarzenegger, she has a close-knit family and supportive husband to help her navigate being pregnant in a pandemic. On Thursday, Schwarzenegger spoke to her close friend Dr. Zelana Montminy, a behavioural scientist who wrote the book
21 Days to Resilience. Gushing about her famous husband Chris Pratt, Schwarzenegger said that the
Guardians of the Galaxy actor has been helping Schwarzenegger stay healthy and feel safe throughout her pregnancy.“It's been amazing having him home and also very understanding about my need to sanitize everything, having everyone wear masks all the time," said Schwarzenegger during the Instagram live discussion. "That's been helpful."Pratt and Schwarzenegger happily
announced their pregnancy in April. Pratt began the year in the UK filming the third instalment in the
Jurassic World franchise. Filming on
Jurassic World: Dominion was shut down in early March due to concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic. Pratt returned home to the US and has been spending time with Schwarzenegger and their family in Los Angeles.Filming is expected to resume on
Jurassic World: Dominion on July 6, which will take Pratt back to the UK. The blockbuster is one of the first major productions to resume filming amidst the ongoing pandemic. Universal has plans to implement safety measures in addition to what has been recommended by the British Film Institute and British Film Commission. The studio is reportedly
spending $5 million on added protections for the cast and crew, including on-site doctors and nurses, sanitizing stations, COVID training and testing for cast and crew throughout filming.Once Pratt returns to the UK, Schwarzenegger will be able to rely on her tight-knit family for support. “I'm really lucky to be living in very close proximity to my family, which has been very helpful," Schwarzenegger told Montminy. In April, Schwarzenegger and Pratt were spotted
riding their bikes through Los Angeles with members of Schwarzenegger’s famous family. The 30-year-old children’s and self-help author is the oldest child of actor and politician Arnold Schwarzenegger and journalist Maria Shriver.
During their hour-long conversation, Schwarzenegger also told Montminy that reaching out to friends who have gone through their own pregnancies has provided an invaluable source of support and information. "Also, having people like you who I text constantly about everything baby because I'm learning as I go, and it's been an interesting time to be pregnant,” said Schwarzenegger.Pratt and Schwarzenegger first began dating in the summer of 2018 after being introduced by Schwarzenegger’s mother. The pair got engaged in January 2019 and were
