Kate Beckinsale is tired of dating double standards

Madonna has gone through it, Cher has had to endure it, and now Kate Beckinsale is the latest woman in Hollywood forced to speak up about the way her romantic relationships are maligned and criticized by society. In the June 2020 issue of Women’s Health, the British beauty claps back at the double standard she and other women over the age of  -- oh we don’t know, 20?—face every day when it comes to the young men they date.“I witness men constantly doing whatever they like,” she told the magazine, “whether that’s in relationships or deciding to buy a motorbike or getting a tattoo. It hasn’t been interpreted as, ‘Why hasn’t he had more children?’ or ‘Is he ever going to decide to become a parent?’ or ‘Why has he had so many girlfriends?’” Where’s the lie?!

Currently, she has been seen holding hands and spending time with Canadian singer Goody Grace, who is 22.We are loving her epic stance on this double standard, even though raising her voice and calling out BS has always been a Beckinsale hallmark. She is known for calling out trolls on her social media channels, and never suffering fools gladly.There is no end to the list of older men in Hollywood who enjoy dating younger women. James Woods was 60 when he started dating a 20-year-old. Jack Nicolson was 62 when he started dating 29-year-old actress Lara Flynn Boyle. And before marrying Amal Alamuddin (who is much younger than him), George Clooney was notorious for dating young, beautiful women; so much so that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler made this iconic joke about his philandering ways during the Golden Globes. So why is it when a woman flips the script and dates a younger man, she is treated with nothing but scorn and scrutiny?Luckily those close to Kate, namely her daughter Lily, have no problem with her dating whomever she pleases, thank you very much.
