It was nearly two weeks ago that Justin Timberlake made headlines — and not in a good way. The actor-singer was in New Orleans with the cast and crew of his upcoming movie when he and actress Alisha Wainwright were photographed looking slightly more intimate than a married man would normally be in public with a woman who isn't his wife.
The Sun published photos of Timberlake and Wainwright
holding hands, and Wainwright resting her hand on Timberlake's knee. There were witnesses that claimed he initiated it, and she responded by stroking his leg. Basically, all questionable behaviour for a married man. But the co-stars were quick to deny everything and reports followed that absolutely nothing was going on between them—just two people hanging out with a group of friends. The seemingly incriminating photos? They were nothing. But now it appears to be something.Timberlake and Biel, along with Wainwright, realized the rumours weren't going to go away anytime soon, so Justin has broken his silence and set the record straight on what really happened that November evening. "I stay away from gossip as much as I can, but for my family I feel it is important to address recent rumors that are hurting the people that I love," he began his Instagram post. Justin went on to clarify that while it was a "lapse in judgement" and "nothing happened" between him and Alisha, he did acknowledge that he "drank way too much" and regrets his behaviour. "I should have known better."
A few days after they were spotted looking cozy, Timberlake and Wainwright were
photographed on set, and soon, any reports of Justin or Jessica
looking upset or
serious as they went about their business became newsworthy. Clearly members of the Timberlake-Biel household felt the incident needed to be addressed and Justin's Instagram post did just that.
