With less than three weeks until the U.S. election, celebrities seem to be doubling down on their efforts to encourage people to vote. And although it’s too late to register to vote in some (but not all) states, a large group of celebs are hoping to grab last-minute voters and remind them that their voices make a difference.Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Mark Ruffalo, Common and more musicians and actors are teaming up to host Vote With Us, a virtual rally taking place on October 24 (AKA Vote Early Day). The three-hour event is designed to encourage and inspire young people and communities of colour to vote early in the November 3 election. To help inspire, there will be a slew of celebrity performances as well as appearances by youth activists and influencers.[video_embed id='2041318']RELATED: Harry and Meghan encourage people to vote[/video_embed]“#VoteWithUs is a mass movement designed to turn out the biggest early vote America has ever seen,” explains the official site. “By shifting our power from protests to the polls, we can unleash our voices and create the future we’ve been demanding.”The rally also features appearances by singer Andra Day, comedian Sherry Cola, basketball stars Renee Montgomery and Candice Dupree, rapper Vic Mensa, and more, according to a press release. In addition to raising overall voting awareness, the goal is to help explain how, when, where and why to vote, with an extra emphasis on how to vote early, safely, and in-person.Not only are celebrities coming together for the big event, but many of America’s top political advocacy groups, like Black Voters Matter, The Early Vote, We Stand United, and Vote Early Day, are coming together to join the rally too. It’s the first time such groups have shown a united front to mobilize Americans and increase voter turnout.Throughout the rally, organizers will also highlight voting events that took place in Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Phoenix. The cast of Us Kids (a documentary featuring students speaking out against gun violence after a mass shooting at their high school killed 17 people) will also be on hand.“To vote is to harness your power, and we have to use the power that’s given to us," one of the film’s subjects, Emma González, said in a statement. "Don’t just vote for yourself, vote for every person; for every person whose basic rights are at risk, for every person who can’t vote because they are undocumented or incarcerated, for every person who is affected by the system and for every person who fought with everything they had just to give us the right to vote. Vote because you can. Vote because we haven’t always been able to."Vote With Us streams on Vote Early Day (October 24) at 3 p.m. ET on www.votewith.us and on YouTube.[video_embed id='2050169']RELATED:Chris Pratt under fire for insensitive voting post[/video_embed]
