Inception and 500 Days of Summer star Joseph Gordon-Levitt has had a fascination with digital creative collabs and connections for many years now. Ever since he launched his Hit Record social media channels over a decade ago, he has found a direct way to transmit his art to the public, and vice versa. Now, as we all are stuck at home during the COVID-19 global pandemic, Joe wants us to stay creative, productive, and most of all, connected.Taking to his official Twitter account, he made a simple request–show him your best art. It could be anything. Maybe you like to draw, or breakdance, or play the accordion, or you can yodel? No matter your special talent, he wanted people to tweet at him using the hashtag #createtogether so he could amplify their work for otherwise enjoy and share. Looking at some of the replies he garnered, this is probably the cutest activity to lift spirits we’ve seen in a while. Gordon-Levitt RTed some of his faves, like this woman who is recreating famous pieces of art in photographs with her kids, this family learning to paint together, or this woman who made a special cake hat for her unamused pupper. Wow, y’all are taking thinking-outside-the-box to another level, and we are living for it.[video_embed id='1943353']This teacher's COVID-19 song made our hosts cry of laughter[/video_embed]Turns out this call for creating together isn’t just a random request, it’s directly inspired by a new YouTube short series that Joe is producing, and the star of it could be you. Entitled “Create Together #WithMe,” each 10 minute episode will feature the random talents people are learning, honing, perfecting, and mastering during quarantine, and with the first episode premiering in a month, he wants you to submit the best of whatcha got.“It's gonna be a six-part miniseries, 10-minute episodes,” he explained in the video call-for-submissions, “and it's gonna be about how we're all coping with this pandemic by staying creative together. So if you like to write or you like to act or to make movies or to make music or however you like to express yourself, come jump in.” Those quarantining alone can use this to stay connected, and those quarantining with family can make it a fun activity together. We’re already sold.So if you’re already polishing off your ballroom dancing shoes and your bagpipe skills (what? Don’t judge!), and you want the opportunity to say you co-starred with Joseph Gordon-Levitt on a show, now's your chance.[video_embed id='1943439']BEFORE YOU GO: Cobie Smulders serenades Jake Johnson with HIMYM throwback[/video_embed]
