It’s hard to believe the eight-episode run of Some Good News is officially done—at least for now. After hosting a virtual prom, reuniting the original cast of Hamilton, and recognizing hard-working healthcare workers everywhere, John Krasinski certainly deserves a break. But at the same time, fans have begun relying on the former Office star to cast some light into homes everywhere with that knowing camera stare of his. Krasinski announced the series is taking a break on May 17, sharing some of the most memorable moments from the show to-date with viewers and even fighting back tears over the completion of what has turned out to be a pretty buzz-worthy venture indeed.[video_embed id='1941509']RELATED: John Krasinski is trying to make prom during the pandemic a little more special[/video_embed]For the last episode, Krasinski put together a compilation of all the highlights he’s doled out over the past couple of months during the coronavirus pandemic, reminding everyone why they’ve needed this show in the first place. But no one needed it more than the actor, it seems. “Well on a very personal note, I can tell you that I will never be able to properly articulate just how much this show has meant to me and what a tremendous honour it has been to share in all of it with you,” he said."Because, the truth is, I have been so blown away by the messages I have received saying how joyful this show makes you, how uplifted and inspired you all can be, but I assure you, all the pleasure and all the inspiration has been mine. I told you from the very first episode, I only deliver the good news. You are the good news," he added while clearly choking up. "And that's why every single week if you can look through the goofy guy wearing half a suit, you'd see what resilience really looks like. What unbroken really means. And through witnessing every simple act of kindness and generosity, you would see what the true definition of good really is."Krasinski gave no word on why he’s choosing to end the show right now, although TV and film productions are slowly starting to open back up around the world as isolation and social-distancing begin to evolve after weeks of stay-at-home orders and closures.Meanwhile the actor has also been branching out with some other ventures during this strange time, including a guest appearance on Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey’s Office podcast, where he revealed he has that teapot from the former NBC show. He’s also reportedly been having virtual meetings with Marvel to supposedly star in some kind of top-secret project, although he hasn’t given any updates to fans on that just yet."And that will do it. For this episode of SGN, I'm John Krasinski no longer needing to remind you that no matter how hard things get, there is always good in the world,” he concluded the final episode. “Thank you all for making this show so very special. We will see you again."Here’s hoping.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: 78-year-old grandfather walks out of hospital after beating COVID-19[/video_embed]
