It really seemed like 2020 was going to be Jennifer Lopez’s year. Hot off her Golden Globe-nominated run with Hustlers and following that ah-mah-zing Super Bowl halftime show performance with Shakira, J-Lo was looking forward to taking a little time off from the career highs and focusing on her new blended family and fiancé Alex Rodriguez. And you know, making it all official and getting married. Then the coronavirus pandemic hit, and like many other engaged couples out there, wedding plans had to be put on hold. Indefinitely. And while Lopez has maintained a pretty positive front about it all over the past couple of months, she finally admitted she’s a bit “heartbroken” about how things have played out."Nobody knows," Lopez told the Today Show when asked about her wedding date. "Really, there’s no planning right now. You just have to kind of wait and see how this all plays out. It’s disappointing on one level, you know, after the Super Bowl and after World of Dance, after we finished filming it, I planned to take time off, which is what we’re doing kind of right now, but at the same time… we had a lot of plans for this summer, and this year but, everything’s kinda on hold right now.” Lopez and Rodriguez were originally planning to spend their summer in Italy exchanging vows in a romantic ceremony. Instead they’re proving to be #relationshipgoals in a different way by sharing grueling family workouts with their fans and cozying up together for World of Dance (Tuesdays 10/8 MT on CTV) as well as making guest star appearances on talk shows and virtual charity events."I’m a little heartbroken because we did have some great plans but I’m also like, you know what? God has a bigger plan so we just have to wait and see,” she continued telling Hoda Kotb, invoking that positivity her fans know and love her for. “Maybe it’s going to be better. I have to believe that it will be.”[video_embed id='1936067']RELATED: JLO's wedding plans have been impacted by COVID-19 [/video_embed]Lopez and Rodriguez got engaged last March after two years of dating. On their one-year engagement anniversary A-Rod shared a sweet tribute to his leading lady on Instagram, putting boyfriends everywhere to shame. “One year ago on a beach in the Bahamas … I was a nervous wreck, more nervous than my entire playing career, I got down on one knee and asked you a question… you said yes,” he wrote. “Jennifer, every moment with you is a blessing. You are my best friend, my inspiration, an amazing mother, and a role model to all,” he continued. “Macha, I am so lucky to be with you. Thank you for making my life better. I can’t wait to make more memories with you. I love you.”Lopez and Rodriguez aren’t the only celebrities whose wedding plans have been put on hold because of the coronavirus pandemic. An expecting Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have had to put their plans on hold once again; Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams stopped plotting out their special day; Emma Stone and Dave McCary are holding off on setting a new date; former Jersey Shore star Sammi Giancola put her wedding to Christan Biscardi on hold; and Taraji P. Henson and fiancé Kelvin Hayden are pushing back their date to later on this summer. Here’s hoping some of those deposits were refundable.Watch World of Dance Tuesdays at 10/8MT on CTV.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: These identical twins have the most contagious laughter ever [/video_embed]
