We already had our suspicions that Jennifer Lopez was going to be the headliner of this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show. What we didn't know, or expect, is that she would be sharing the stage with another hot mama: Shakira.Let's face it, their hips don't lie. This is going to be an epic, booty-shaking show that only women as amazing as these two can provide. Both singers took to their respective Instagram and Twitter pages on Thursday to announce the news that "this is happening" and prepare us for the big day—February 2, 2020—when they'll perform from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida."Ever since I saw Diana Ross fly off into the sky at the Halftime Show, I dreamed of performing at the Super Bowl," Lopez said in a statement to Rolling Stone. "And now it's made even more special not only because it's the NFL's 100th anniversary, but also because I am performing with a fellow Latina. I can't wait to show what us girls can do on the world's biggest stage."Shakira also released a statement, saying, "I'm so honored to be taking on one of the world's biggest stages in the company of a fellow female artist to represent Latinos and Latinas from the U.S. and all over the world – and to top it off, on my birthday! This is a true American dream and we are going to bring the show of a lifetime!"Happy early birthday to Shakira, but she's the one who'll be giving out all kinds of gifts that day. And it reportedly won't just be J.Lo and Shakira, though that's enough to have audiences dancing in their seats and bars and living rooms. ESPN's Adam Schefter added that fans should expect other performers to be added, and to also expect "a Miami flavor."Oh, it's happening all right.

Earlier this month, the Hustlers actress played off the halftime show rumours, but revealed she would be down for it.And it looks like we have Jay-Z to thank for this. The rapper and producer is working with the NFL as a "live music entertainment strategist," and his entertainment agency, Roc Nation, will advise and consult with the league on live events."We are so excited to announce that global superstars Jennifer Lopez and Shakira will take the stage together for the very first time at the Pepsi Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show," Adam Harter, Senior Vice President of Sports, Media and Entertainment, for PepsiCo said in a statement to People. "We've been working closely behind-the-scenes with our longstanding partners at the NFL, and now alongside Roc Nation to bring these mega superstars together. It is a testament to our partnership and commitment to push the envelope of what is possible."Last year Maroon 5, Big Boi and Travis Scott co-headlined the halftime show. Ahead of the performance, Scott and the NFL partnered to donate $500,000 to Dream Corps, a non-profit organization that champions social justice.Past performers in recent years include Beyoncé, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Prince, Katy Perry and Justin Timberlake.
