Jeff Bridges is opening up with fans like never before following his recent cancer diagnosis. The Dude himself took to Twitter to thank fans and friends alike for all of their well-wishes after revealing that he has lymphoma, sharing a photo of himself in all his glory as he undergoes treatment.“I want to thank you all for reaching out during this time, it feels good getting all the well wishes and love!” the 70-year-old wrote in an October 29 post, in which he promised to also share more updates via his website. He then included a link. On JeffBridges.com, The Big Lebowski actor shared the same picture of himself receiving treatment, but he also included an even more heartfelt post along with a few doodles for good measure. “New shit has come to light—I’ve got cancer,” he writes. “But that’s not the only new shit that’s come to light. This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness, and gratitude, and good old fashion love, and lots of it, big time. I’m feeling so much of it comin’ my way, and man I appreciate it,” he continued.“It’s contagious, all of this love, like some kind of positive virus. I want to acknowledge and thank you guys for reaching out during this time. It feels good, getting all the well wishes and love. This cancer is making me appreciate my mortality, appreciate impermanence. I’m realizing if I have shit to share, now’s my time.”The actor then shared several links, including one to a music video for “My Welcome Mat,” one to the page for his NatGeo film, Living in the Future’s Past, and another to a video in which the actor and musician highlights the importance of trees. “If you’re into it, I’ll be sharing my perspectives on this site,” Bridges continued on the page. “I’m looking to be in partnership with you guys in creating a beautiful life and world for all of us.” He caps off the message with the reminder, “All in this together.”Bridges first revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer in a Twitter post on October 19. At the time he revealed that he has a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good, and that he would be starting treatment soon. “As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light,” he wrote before adding a follow-up post reminding people to vote in the upcoming U.S. election.Since opening up about his medical status, a slew of the man’s celebrity friends have publicly voiced their support for him during this difficult time. Rosie O’Donnell, Olivia Wilde, Ed Helms, George Takei and Kathy Griffin are just some of the Hollywood insiders who have taken to their own social media pages to share the love.Bridges, who turns 71-years-old in December, has been a beloved actor for decades, but it was his turn as the famed The Dude character in the Coen brothers’ 1998 flick The Big Lebowski that many fans still seem to love the most. So in that vein, here’s wishing The Dude all the best in his continued fight.[video_embed id='2058900']RELATED: Jeff Bridges reveals he’s been diagnosed with cancer[/video_embed]
