What could've been

J.Lo and Shakira may have crushed the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday night but a few years ago, NFL's plan was for Jay-Z to take the stage — but that never happened. The music mogul/producer/rapper recalled to the New York Times how he was approached by the league (long before the days of Colin Kaepernick) but Jay turned down their offer because they didn't just want him. The league also wanted Rihanna and Kanye West alongside him so they could perform their track "Run This Town," but Beyonce's husband didn't like their approach."Of course I would have," Jay told the Times. "But I said, 'No, you get me.' That is not how you go about it, telling someone that they're going to do the halftime show contingent on who they bring. I said forget it. It was a principle thing."Fast-forward to 2018, when Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi were urged to drop out of the show to support Kaepernick, who has not been offered a contract with any team since he began protesting in 2016. Shortly before the acts were announced, however, was another reveal — that Jay-Z and his company, Roc Nation, were partnering with the National Football League to advise and consult the league on live events, including the halftime show.Jay may never take to the stage of a Super Bowl Halftime Show but if he can fix what's going on behind the scenes there, particularly with his and the league's new initiative, Inspire Change (which focuses on "education and economic advancement, police and community relations, and criminal justice reform"), that big picture is better than any performance Jay could give — with or without Rihanna and Kanye.

Terry Crews extended an olive branch to Gabrielle Union

Terry Crews recently defended America's Got Talent against Gabrielle Union's claims that it was a toxic environment and, understandably, Gabi didn't take his comments lightly. The backlash for Crews ensued so the AGT host took to Twitter to apologize to Union and come to a truce. Union has yet to respond but her super-supportive husband, Dwyane Wade, did. A few hours after Crews' Twitter statement, Wade had a simple tweet of his own that may or may not be backed by Gabrielle.

Harry and Meghan promote the most positive and heartwarming page on Instagram

As far as the Sussexes are concerned, positive news is the only thing they — and we — should be focused on. Literally. As per the first of every month, the royals' Instagram page select causes and groups and people they want to shine a spotlight on. For February, they chose one special page: that of Global Positive News, which touts themselves as the "#1 Most Heartwarming Page on Instagram."
Considering all the horrific and devastating things written about Harry and Meghan, it's a pretty perfect choice for the couple. Now, if only it inspires the haters out there.

Thank you for always sending me so much positivity and love through your comments. I read most of them when I can and it makes me so happy that there’s so much love around. I send it all right back. Ten fold." Clearly, the commenter didn't get the memo.Eva's response was perfect, that she's "grateful everyday" that she's aging and if the only thing the comment did was make her feel even more grateful. "So thank you for the reminder that I'm still here."

Lucy Hale tried to match with John Mayer on a dating app

It's like Lucy Hale has never heard what John Mayer has done in the past or said about ex-girlfriends Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Because she wanted to date him anyway. The Pretty Little Liars star told Cosmo that she's giving dating apps a try and she recently came across Mayer. "And I pressed yes for him, but I don't think he pressed yes for me," she told the mag. Pfft. He should be so lucky. When asked if she was concerned by the singer's reputation, she shook it off. "I'm so drawn to musical talent, I don't care." Hmm, Hale might have a point. Mayer has matured — right? Or Lucy could also be counting her stars on dodging this dating bullet. In any case, the actress is fine being unattached. "When I was younger, I was constantly wanting to be with or date someone because I was so deathly afraid of being single or by myself," she explained. "Now, I'm at the point where if I meet someone, they better really elevate my life, because I love being single."Hale has previously dated David Henrie, Chris Zylka, Graham Rogers and Riley Smith. Aside from the aforementioned famous ladies, Mayer has also dated Jennifer Love Hewitt and Minka Kelly.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Dog and cat watch TV together like humans[/video_embed]
