2020 has been an especially tough year for expecting parents, with COVID-19 making the trip to the maternity ward extra-stressful for pregnant people and their partners (who have, for safety reasons, frequently been barred from attending the birth). Despite the extra hurdles, a whole host of celebs have given birth this year and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner just joined their ranks (if anyone could pull off labour mid-pandemic, it’s Sansa). Turner and husband Joe Jonas reportedly welcomed a baby girl last Wednesday at a Los Angeles hospital and while there’s been no official word from the new parents yet, TMZ is claiming that they’ve named their first child Willa. Aw.Turner and Jonas have kept their status as soon-to-be parents quiet, never officially commenting on the fact that they were expecting. Of course, a late stage pregnancy is pretty impossible to hide and the couple have been seen living their lives on the streets of L.A. with Turner’s baby bump in view and masks on their faces. (Turner’s mask game, as documented by Vogue India, is seriously on point.)[video_embed id='1950931']RELATED: Sophie Turner only agreed to date Joe Jonas if he watched 'Harry Potter'[/video_embed]The pair met through mutual friends in 2016, were engaged in 2017, and married on May 1, 2019. Their surprise wedding took place in Las Vegas following the Billboard Music Awards and was all over Instagram Live (as it should be). A few months later Turner and Jonas hosted a more traditional affair, redoing the ceremony among friends and family in France. We’re just speculating here, but we have to wonder if Willa might have been conceived during one of the two over-the-top honeymoon trips the pair took. (Notably, those events were not documented on Instagram Live.)

The couple join a long list of famous names who’ve welcomed new babies during the coronavirus outbreak. Among them are Chloe Sevigny and partner Sinisa Mackovic, Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita, Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail, Kristen Wiig and Avi Rothman, Pusha T and Virginia Williams, and Grimes and Elon Musk. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are also expecting their first child together later this fall.Congratulations to all![video_embed id='2001455']BEFORE YOU GO: Dog hilariously tries to push cat out of family picture [/video_embed]
