It appears that Demi Lovato has a new quarantine bae. Eagle-eyed fans have noticed some online flirting between Lovato and The Young and The Restless star Max Ehrich and now People is confirming that the pair are dating. Lovato and Ehrich’s reps have not commented on the relationship and the pair have yet to make things Insta-official, but the receipts are there.Lovato and Ehrich have been staying busy during the quarantine by liking one another’s social media posts. Ehrich has been sharing quotes on love (swoon, we know) and getting likes from Lovato, who is rocking a little bit of extra glow in her recent pics. On March 11, Ehrich shared a video of himself singing Mario’s 2004 hit “Let Me Love You,” which in addition to still being a jam is also a song that fans can easily interpret as a message from Ehrich to Lovato. The Grammy nominee was quick to like and comment on Ehrich’s video, keeping things playful and coy with a shocked face emoji and heart emoji. Ehrich responded with a heart emoji. OMG you guys. Hand clap emoji, kissy face emoji, right?
Only a few days later, the 28-year-old actor posted a picture of himself on a couch playing with some very cute pups. Aside from being a slam dunk for great content, because puppies always get likes, many fans were quick to point out that Ehrich’s new furry friends are Lovato’s dogs Batman and Ella. Smart move, Ehrich. You gotta get in good with the four-legged children first.
In case there were any lingering doubts that Lovato and Ehrich were spending their quarantine time together, Ehrich and his 14 abs shared a shirtless picture on March 24 and captioned it “When u realize u should’ve packed more for your quarantine stay.” Not even bothering with the DM slide, Lovato posted directly in the comments section, writing “Fine by me...” We see you, Demi!
The new couple may be taking their time getting to know one another during the COVID-19 pandemic, but that doesn’t mean Lovato has been forgetting about her massive platform and millions of fans. The singer has been active on social media and encouraging her 79.2 million Instagram followers to be safe and smart. On March 20, Lovato joined Kevin Bacon’s #WhyIStayHome challenge and posted her response, telling fans that she’s staying home for her parents, her neighbours and her health. “There’s a lot of things going on in our world right now, but if there’s one thing that matters it’s spreading love,” wrote Lovato, nominating friends Miley Cyrus, Bebe Rexha, Ariana Grande, Ashley Graham, Ruby Rose and Alok Menon for the challenge, which encourages people who are able to stay home to do so in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.
On March 25, Lovato shared a video of herself encouraging fans to join the #DoYourPartChallenge. The 27-year-old announced that she will be donating meals to families in need. In an effort to help the restaurant industry, which has been hit hard by the pandemic, Lovato also tagged Door Dash delivery service and reminded her followers to use safety measures when receiving food at home.
