Sexiest Man Alive and next James Bond Idris Elba has been very open about his COVID-19 state of being and health since he publicly announced he tested positive for the virus on March 16th. The London-based actor and DJ joined other celebs like Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson in announcing their diagnosis so as to encourage others to stay home and flatten the curve. The COVID-19 global pandemic has been tough on all of us, but as Elba said in a video he posted to his social media channels, the struggle for him and his family isn’t over yet.“We’ve passed the quarantine period but we’re a little bit stuck in limbo,” he explained. “We can’t get a flight back home. So we just have to sit still for a little bit. Other than that, we’re okay, and we’re so thankful for that. I think the worst of it has probably passed.” [video_embed id='1926962']RELATED: Idris Elba opens up to Oprah about coronavirus diagnosis[/video_embed]Elba and his Canadian wife Sabrina Dhowre went into a 14-day quarantine after his exposure to the virus. It has neither been confirmed or denied that he was exposed to it after an event he attended that was also patroned by Sophie Grégoire Trudeau (wife of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau), who tested positive for the virus a few days before Elba, but that is one possibility. Rather than focusing on the past, Elba encouraged everyone in his video to stay calm and see this through with positivity.“Take it from me, man. I thought I was definitely going to see the worst of it as an asthmatic, but thankfully I came through and so can you," he said in the video that was presumably recorded on his phone. He went on to say that he relates to the cabin fever and effects of self-isolation that the entire globe is feeling right now, because he and Sabrina are struggling through their stir-crazy feelings. “It’s weird because I never sit still, Sabrina never sits still either . . . But we're both good mentally, just trying to stay optimistic.”Of course, he couldn’t end his video without paying homage to the first responders and health care professionals on the front line of this pandemic. Sending them massive love, he added that his thoughts are with them, “Especially the doctors and nurses and the healthcare people that are doing their thing. You lot are amazing and should be fully appreciated.”Nothing but respect for MY James Bond.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Golden Retriever puppy very ecstatic to find a new 'friend'[/video_embed]
