Fans just really want Demi Lovato to be happy. Which is probably why about 30 seconds after people learned the “I Love Me” singer was dating (and in self-isolation with)
Young and the Restless star Max Ehrich, rumours about a proposal started flying. As it turns out, a source is now saying that an engagement is not in their near future. In fact, people should probably pump the breaks on that theory for at least a little bit longer.According to E! News, which spoke with an unnamed source about the lovebirds’ situation, there’s no weight to the idea that a ring is coming. “The engagement rumours are not true,”
the source said. “It’s still early in the relationship and Demi and Max are just getting to know each other.” Seems like a pretty solid quote, considering Lovato and Ehrich haven’t even made their relationship Instagram-official yet. Unless you count
the time Lovato accidentally crashed her man’s Instagram Live performance, that is.[video_embed id='1940078']RELATED: Demi Lovato kinda, sorta, reveals her current status with Selena Gomez[/video_embed]It’s probably worth noting that nothing can make or break a new couple like self-isolation. It’s where you learn all of a person’s ticks, habits, and potential flaws, after all. So should Lovato and Ehrich emerge from their cocoon still solid when things begin to return to normal, maybe then is the time to talk about an engagement. Until then, people who know such things are confident this is the real deal.“Max is very much in love with Demi and is infatuated with her,” a different source also told E! News, adding that they’ve been ordering in food, cooking together, and watching movies during social distancing. “Max has basically already moved into Demi's house and everything has been going really well. They are always joking and laughing all day long, keeping each other entertained.” Relationship goals, to be sure.“This time has been very special because they have been one-on-one with no distractions or stress from outside life,” the insider added. “They've really gotten to know each other on a different level. She is feeling great and loves being with him. He supports her sobriety and is very understanding. It's going great and they both see it moving in a serious direction. She has loved having him at her house and trying out living together. So far, it's working very well.”The truth is you don’t need to be engaged or married to accept love in your life, as Lovato also proved on April 16 with the release of her empowering
new single with Sam Smith, “I’m Ready.” A video for the anthem, which is all about accepting love, dropped on social media much to fans’ delight—especially those who were eagerly anticipating the track on Smith’s new album, which has been postponed.
In the sports- and glitter-filled video, the pair sing about what they’re looking for in their ideal partners. “I’ve been looking hard for a lover disguised as a sinner. Not a cheater, a redeemer, he’s a cold, cold blooded defeater,”
Lovato sings. “I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready, I’m ready for someone to love me.” If that isn’t a hopeful message for fans, what is?Let the engagement watch continue.[video_embed id='1941172']Before you go: You need to see Halle Berry's take on the 'pillow challenge'[/video_embed]
