Harry and Meghan are doing their part to help end the rift in the royal family with an upcoming visit. After leaving their young son Archie at home in Canada for their past two visits to the U.K., it looks as though the couple is planning a trip to Harry’s homeland this summer so that Archie can spend time with his father’s side of the family, namely his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.Meghan and Harry will reportedly travel to Scotland this summer in order for Archie to spend time with the Queen. The family of three will stay at Balmoral Castle, where they will also visit with Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, as well as Harry’s father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla.[video_embed id='1920389']RELATED: Meghan Markle says emotional goodbye to U.K. before leaving for Canada[/video_embed]

The Sunday Times are citing multiple sources for the story, adding that in addition to some GG (Great-Grandma) time in Scotland, the now-10-month-old Archie will also accompany his parents to the Trooping the Colour parade that takes place in London every June. Shortly after his first birthday this May, Archie will make his first international flight since December, when he and his parents travelled to Canada to spend the holidays on Vancouver Island with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, deciding to make their beautiful rental home into a more permanent residence. The exact timing of Harry and Meghan’s visit with Archie to Scotland is unclear, though it makes sense that it would take place around the same time as Trooping the Colour. Prince William and Duchess Kate take an annual trip to Scotland every summer with their three children, including Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. While the Queen and Prince Philip spend two months of the summer in Scotland, the younger members of the royal family are there for less time. Last year, Kate and William flew with their children to Balmoral at the
end of August.Earlier this month, a source close to the royal family told
US Weekly that the Queen was upset about the lack of time she’s been able to spend with her great-grandchild and eighth in line to the throne. “[The queen is] heartbroken over the thought of not getting to see her great-grandson,” a source told the magazine. “The queen would love to have a relationship with Archie. … She’s trying to stay optimistic about this situation and would never stoop to casting any aspersions on Meghan’s character – even after everything that’s happened.”Harry and Meghan recently completed their final tour of duties as working members of the royal family, attending the Commonwealth Day celebrations in London earlier this month and
making appearances at a handful of charitable events. Harry travelled to the U.K. ahead of Meghan and had some
one on one time with his grandmother over tea at Harry and Meghan’s Frogmore Cottage, where the close grandmother and grandson reportedly made peace with their new arrangement.
Harry and Meghan have been living on and off in their home on Vancouver Island since November and made the decision to not travel with their young son during their January and March trips to the U.K. The couple’s time as His Royal Highness and Her Royal Highness will come to an end this month on March 31, allowing the couple to explore projects outside the royal family.[video_embed id='1919621']RELATED: Why we may not see Harry & Meghan for a while[/video_embed]
