Harry and Meghan have left Canada for California

Harry and Meghan are Canadian residents no more. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had been rumoured to be planning on spending time in Meghan’s hometown of Los Angeles this summer, but it appears the couple have decided to make the move earlier and more permanently.People is reporting that Meghan, Harry and baby Archie have already left Canada and are now living in their new home in the Los Angeles area. A source close to the couple says that they are living in a secluded compound and have not left the premises since arriving from Canada on a private jet. Now may not seem like the optimal time to leave their home on Vancouver Island and relocate to California, which is currently under lockdown as ordered by Governor Gavin Newsom. But as People notes, the couple have a large support system in Los Angeles. They can’t actually visit any of these people at the moment, but they’re there.Most notably, Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland lives in Los Angeles. The couple are close with Ragland, who spent the Christmas holidays in Canada with Meghan, Harry and her grandson Archie. A native Angeleno, many of Meghan’s closest friends live in and around Los Angeles. The former Suits star has been heavily rumoured to be interested in re-entering the world of acting. On March 26, Disney released their first look at the upcoming nature film Elephant, which will be narrated by The Duchess of Sussex. The new film will be available for streaming on Disney+ starting April 3 and will help to raise money for the charity Elephants Without Borders.

The Sun is reporting that Meghan and Harry decided to move up the date of their relocation over fears that Canada and the US would be closing their borders to international travel. The move comes only a few days before the official March 31 end of Meghan and Harry’s time as fulltime working members of the Royal Family. The Sun also reports that members of the Royal Family are disappointed that the couple are moving to California and not returning to the UK to help Harry’s family who are reeling from the pandemic. We’re gonna call shenanigans on that one. Literally staying away is the best thing the couple can do right now.Earlier this week, Harry’s father Prince Charles became the first senior member of the Royal Family to test positive for COVID-19. On March 25, the Royal Family confirmed the news with a public statement. “The Prince of Whales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual,” reads the statement. “The Duchess of Cornwall has also tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland.” Harry and Meghan last saw Prince Charles on March 9 at the Commonwealth Day event in the UK and the Queen saw her son on March 12, putting them all past the two-week mark. It’s unclear when Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge and their children last saw Prince Charles.The royal family have been helping to raise funds for medical resources to help fight COVID-19 and showing their support for first responders. Harry and Meghan have also been sharing resources for those who are struggling with the fallout from the pandemic, linking to several mental health resources on their Instagram.
