People and are happily making history with as the first grandma, mom and (grand)daughter cover in time for the mag's May issue.The girls radiate happiness on the cover of
People, which shows Hudson and Hawn in flowing white dresses while baby Rani (pronounced Ronnie) wears a white diaper cover. The new issues includes an interview with the famous mother-daughter duo, who speak about the joys of parenting and how Hawn and her partner of 37 years, Kurt Russell, remain #couplegoals. “To live up to that is really the goal,” Hudson said of her mother’s almost four-decade partnership with Russell. “Just the fact that they’ve been able to maintain a unit for all of us, in times of turmoil, they really are the center of all of our lives.”Russell raised Hudson and her older brother Oliver after Hawn divorced her second husband Bill Hudson. The
Almost Famous actress has frequently spoken about the close bond she shares with Russell, whom she considers her father. “When you have your children and you have a man who loves your children, that’s a very tough bond,” agreed Hawn.
Hudson and boyfriend Danny Fujikawa welcomed Rani, their first child together, in October 2018. Hudson was already a mom to eight-year-old Bing, whom she shares with ex-husband and Muse frontman Matt Belamy, and 16-year-old Ryder, whose dad is The Black Crowes' lead singer Chris Robinson. That is what Mom gave to me.”Hudson also told the mag that she hopes to instill the same level of confidence in her daughter. “My mom gave me the floor to be able to feel confident enough to go out and feel like my life could be my own,” said Hudson. “Mom was my greatest cheerleader. And it just made me think about Rani … going, ‘I hope I give her that kind of confidence,’ you know?”
The new cover marks Hudson’s second for
People, her first coming out in 2008. The famous mother and daughter have also previously shared the spotlight on a 1996 cover of
InStyle, which marked Hudson’s first time on the cover of any magazine. Hudson told
