What’s better than gracing the cover of
Harper’s Bazaar? Gracing the cover and being interviewed by eight of your famous friends, of course. Because not only do your friends know you better than anyone else (well, except maybe family), but you know that they’re there to make you look good. As if Gigi Hadid needed any help in that department. The model opened up about a wide range of topics for the magazine’s April issue, with a little help from people like Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, Serena Williams and Kendall Jenner. Even Jimmy Fallon and Canadian
Queer Eye star
Antoni Porowski got in on the action, with the latter asking the model how she discovered that French fries with mashed potatoes was a thing to eat.
“It was probably after a few passion fruit martinis at Le Chalet at L’Avenue at Saks, which makes my favourite mashed potatoes on the planet,”
she said, being about as relatable (but glamorous) as you’d expect a model of her stature to be. “We must have run out of ketchup, so I dipped the fries in mashed potatoes—and eureka!” Carb on carb goodness at its finest.[video_embed id='1794085']RELATED: Gigi Hadid escorts Chanel runway crasher off stage[/video_embed]Fallon was equally interested in the model’s food choices, because he needed to know about her favourite burger. “As a California kid, I will always have a huge place in my heart for In-N-Out’s Double-Double Animal Style,” she revealed. “But since you and I always talk NYC burgers, I just tried Hall on West 20th Street. It’s the cutest little place. First come, first served. Simple but great burger and fries. And you get a yuzu lemonade with the lunch special—all for $12!” So… roughly $17 Canadian. Still a bargain for yuzu lemonade? You be the judge.Other celebs were a bit more philosophical, like Lively, who wondered what inspired Hadid to make her own chairs (“It’s liberating to just create without the end goal of it being necessary to finish”); Jenner, who was curious about living the farm life (“The farm has made me remember, and bring back to my life, my most simple pleasures”); and Kacey Musgraves, who asked her bud what she’s most scared of (skydiving, which she says she’s done once in Dubai and will totally do again in some other location).
As for Taylor Swift? She claims to be impressed with how Hadid has always been able to fly into action following a stressful situation, and wanted to know if that always came naturally to her. Although the singer, who
celebrated Friendsgiving with Hadid and Porowski last year, didn’t go into details about why she was asking the question, it could be because Hadid has been the target of
runway pranks in the past and always responds marvelously to the haters out there.“I’ve realized over time that I feel the most free when I express myself, whether through action, writing, or talking it out,” Hadid replied. “Being honest always leads to something good, even if it takes a hard or awkward moment or conversation to get there; you can never go wrong with telling someone how you feel and speaking your truth. And you always learn something from it.”Spoken like a true cover girl.[video_embed id='1922670']BEFORE YOU GO: How celebs are dealing with COVID-19[/video_embed]
