Eva Mendes says she'd rather be at home than anywhere else

In case you were wondering, home is still where the heart is for Eva Mendes. The actress confirmed as much recently, saying that she loves spending time with her entire fam-jam, including Ryan Gosling. Actually, especially Ryan Gosling.Let’s back up for a second though. On October 4 Mendes posted a gorgeous, black-and-white throwback photo on Instagram of herself. She joked that she had just gone for a run that morning, before adding, “No I didn’t. This picture was taken at least 15 years ago. Haven’t seen a beach this year. Haven’t been on a run this year,” she added.

While many of her fans took to the comments to share their love and to thank her for keeping it real, one person called Mendes’ husband Ryan Gosling into it. "You need to tell Ryan to get you out more," they wrote. Mendes, who frequently responds to many of her fans and commentators online, took the time to write back to that comment too. “No thank you, I'm good. Rather be home with my man than anywhere else in the world,” she wrote.

For many fans it was a nice sentiment, considering all of the universal talk of putting up with spouses and significant others while in quarantine. Heck, there are barely any photos of the couple out and about together, so is it really any wonder that people got kind of excited by her response? After all, it’s always nice to get affirmation that one of your favourite celebrity pairings are still in a good space.“I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids,” Mendes explained to a fan on Instagram earlier this year about why she chooses privacy. “I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. Since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent,” she explained. “And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent.”Mendes and Gosling met while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011. They reportedly married in a top-secret ceremony in 2016 (their publicist later denied the reports), and they have two daughters together, Esmeralda Amada, 6, and Amada Lee, 4. Mendes sometimes shares fun photos pertaining to her brood (including that time they hilariously did her makeup), but true to her word she has kept their faces off of social media.Just because Mendes is all about spending her spare time with her hot husband doesn’t mean things haven’t been challenging in 2020, mind you. Last month Mendes opened up to Access Daily about what it’s really like parenting two girls without a nanny, especially when trying to plan a date night (apparently they still have those, despite Mendes’ comment). “It takes a lot of prep,” she said. “You got to prep it and make sure you have it all lined up. Luckily we have a lot of family support… My family lives here.
