Social distancing has all kinds of celebrities opening up in new ways, whether it’s talking about rediscovering their partners or whipping out weird photos (I’ll show you my plasma if you show me yours). Whether they go on to regret some of this oversharing remains to be seen, but someone who is #SorryNotSorry for opening up about his personal life is Drake. In fact, Drizzy says it felt pretty great to share his son Adonis with the world for the first time recently. The 6ix rep opened up following his own coronavirus scare several weeks ago, posting photos of Sophie Brussaux and his two-year-old son for the very first time. “What is most important for you right now is to connect to your own inner light,” the rapper captioned an Instagram post on March 30. Now, the “Dark Lane Demo Tapes” singer is opening up about why he decided this was the time to finally introduce Adonis to the world.Drake recently called into The Robot’s Lil Wayne’s radio show, Young Money Radio, to chat about fatherhood, isolation, and sharing those adorable pics. And from the sounds of things, opening up to his fans has actually been kind of freeing for Drake. “It was great for me,” he said, according to E! News. “I just woke up one morning and I was like, ‘You know what? This is just something that I want to do.’” It wasn’t totally random though. Drake went on to add that in the future he wants to “go places with my son and share memories,” which would obviously be kind of hard to do if Adonis was still out of the spotlight. Can you imagine the performer not going to future Raptors games with his tyke? As if.“I don't want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a 'celebrity' that I got to make everybody live under this blanket... I just wanted to free myself of that,” the Champagne Papi said. Later on, he seemed to look up to Lil Wayne as a father too, and credited him as inadvertently influencing his decision. “I could just tell the way your kids would stare at you that the time and effort that you put in as a father. So, that was really inspiring for me just to know that I can still keep pushing forward as a musician and be there for my son.”Since releasing the family photos Drake hasn’t posted any more pics of his babe, but judging by his conversation on the radio show it sounds like it won’t be long before he Tootsie Slides back onto social media to be a proud pops again. In the meantime he’s continuing to spark that artistic creativity by working on the summer release of his sixth studio album, sending heartfelt messages to healthcare heroes, and living his best self-isolation life in his TO mansion.
