Dolly Parton has some pretty solid ideas about how she’d like to spend her 75
th birthday, and those plans include a pair of bunny ears. Months after first revealing that she’d be up for posing in
Playboy again to celebrate the milestone fete, Parton reveals she’s seriously considering a spread.During an interview with
Scott Mills & Chris Stark on their BBC radio 5 show recently, the “Jolene” singer confirmed that she and the magazine’s editors are in talks on a new photoshoot. “Yeah, I just might do it, if I can do it in good taste and they want it,” she said. “We’ll do it along with a really good interview inside. So yeah, we’ve talked about it.”This isn’t the first time Parton has revealed interest in stripping down for another historic shoot for the magazine. In an interview with
60 Minutes Australia in March, Parton said that she would love to return to her former stomping grounds. “I don’t plan to retire. I just turned 74 and I plan to be on the cover of
Playboy magazine again,” she said. “See I did
Playboy magazine years ago and I thought it’d be such a hoot if they’ll go for it—I don’t know if they will—if I could be on the cover again when I’m 75.”[video_embed id='1978235']RELATED: Petition collecting signatures to replace Confederate memorials with Dolly Parton statues[/video_embed]The clock is definitely ticking in order to make that dream happen by Parton’s official birthday, which is January 19. Meanwhile, when she first appeared on the magazine’s cover in 1978 she was 32 years old. At the time it was historic because she was the first country star to ever appear on the cover. When asked during the
60 Minutes interview whether she’d wear that same outfit from all those years ago again, Parton seemed pretty pumped. “Maybe! I could probably use it,” she said. “Boobs are still the same.”If Parton does grace the cover, she will become the oldest woman to ever appear on the cover solo, but not the oldest woman to pose for the magazine. Victoria Valentino, 77, broke that record in December 2019 when she participated in
Playboy’s “
Once a Playmate, Always a Playmate” shoot, a spread that featured women going back through more than 50 years of covers. Previously the record for the oldest woman to ever pose for
Playboy was held by Jane Seymour, who
posed at the age of 67 in February 2018.
While fans await word on whether Parton will actually strip down early next year, they have lots more Dolly in 2020 to look forward to. In addition to just releasing her first new Christmas album in 30 years,
A Holly Dolly Christmas, she’s also teaming up with Christine Baranski, Jenifer Lewis, and Treat Williams for the
November 22 Netflix release of
Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square.[video_embed id='2030335']BEFORE YOU GO: Cat attempts daily hilarious attack on mail carrier[/video_embed]
