It's November 4th and the winner of the 2020 presidential election is still undecided. While most of the world feels uneasy about the awaited results, U.S. President Trump has already declared himself the winner calling it "a big WIN!" Ballots are still being counted and it could take days or even weeks until we find out who will be taking over the Oval Office in January. COVID-19 presented the United States with the opportunity to use mail-in ballots, and counting those could become a lengthy task.During a drive-in rally on election night, Biden told his supporters that they need to be patient and vowed that "every vote is counted." He added that it's not his place or Trump's to "declare who has won this election" and it will be the decision of "the American people."Trump thinks differently and tweeted that an unnamed group was "trying to STEAL the election" and that votes cannot "be cast after the polls are closed." He continued to tweet about the election and said he was losing states due to "surprise ballot dumps." Twitter responded by placing a disclaimer over his tweets that read, "some or all of the content shared in this Tweet is disputed and might be misleading about an election or other civic process." While many are on the edge of their seats waiting for the announcement, celebrities are taking to Twitter to make sure everyone knows to #CountEveryVote.[video_embed id='2068840']RELATED: How artists like Lady Gaga and John Legend are supporting presidential candidates[/video_embed]Will & Grace actress Debra Messing reminded her followers from Georgia that they still have time to fix their vote if there was a problem with their ballot. "Please tell everyone you know in #GA to check and sign up to help below! #EveryVoteCount #CountEveryVote." In a follow-up tweet, Messing quoted one of Trump's tweets and said that "Biden votes are EVERYWHERE!" before sharing that this election has the "most mail-in ballots in history" because of the pandemic."When EVER [sic] vote is COUNTED, #Biden will be elected President," added Messing. Kerry Washington also quoted one of Trump's tweets and let him know that mail-in ballots "are not a 'surprise' they're ballots. They're votes. And they need to be counted. #CountEveryVote." The Little Fires Everywhere star added the hashtag to a tweet from Stacey Abrams, founder of Fair Count, which read, "Keep calm. Be patient. Allow local elections officials to do their jobs. What is most important isn't the speed of the count; it's that every eligible vote is counted. Americans made their voices heard in record numbers, and their votes must be counted." James Corden reminded his followers that they "gotta count every vote" and said to "just keep breathing." The official Twitter account for RuPaul's Drag Race said that "Democracy is worth the wait." Avengers actor Mark Ruffalo responded to a tweet from Trump and told him that "we haven't finished counting the votes," adding, "Be patient. There are millions of uncounted ballots. Let the process happen." He also shared a gif of a clock that read "good things take time" and "we will count every vote" in place of the numbers. Cyndi Lauper acknowledged that "waiting is hard" but assured her followers that "democracy is worth waiting for." "Without counting every vote, we don't have a democracy," Law & Order: SVU actor Danny Pino tweeted. Chelsea Handler and Katy Perry shared the same images of people waiting in lines at polling stations to cast their ballots. The images read, "Every American counts, count every vote. 102 million votes were cast before November 3rd. We must count all the votes." Frozen actor Josh Gaad suggested that Trump is "scared" that he's going to lose to Biden. One Tree Hill alum Sophia Bush said that Trump declaring he won already is not how the election works, adding, "we WILL #CountEveryVote." The #CountEveryVote hashtag continues to grow as we wait for the results to be tallied.
