Christina Ricci was granted an emergency protective order against her husband, film producer James Heerdegen, last week. According to Us Weekly, authorities were called to the couple’s Woodland Hills, Calif. home following an incident and now any contact between the spouses is prohibited. The publication reports that on June 25 officers responded to a domestic battery radio call around 9:20 a.m., and a report was then completed. No one was arrested and further details are unavailable. Neither Ricci nor Heerdegen have spoken about the incident, although Ricci did post a link on Instagram to an article announcing her latest project, Can’t Stop the Dawn, five days later.Ricci and Heerdegen met in 2011 while filming the one-season period drama Pan Am, in which Ricci co-starred with Margot Robbie, Karine Vanasse and David Harbour. They began dating the following year, and by 2013 they were engaged. They were married in October of that year in a 1920s mansion in New York City. Then, in August 2014, they welcomed a baby boy named Freddie Heerdegen, who will celebrate his sixth birthday next month.“Marriage shows you your flaws in how you deal with things and having a child forces you to grow up at the speed of light. I’m a completely different person than I was before I had my child,” Ricci told The Edit in 2017. “Because I was so celebrated for being a child, I think I held onto that immaturity for a very long time. It was the thing that made me special. Then at a certain point, like 35, it’s not so special to be immature.”Over her career the Casper actress has made a name for herself taking on quirky and unusual roles in films like Sleepy Hollow and The Addams Family, but she has also nabbed recurring guest-starring roles on more traditional TV series like Grey’s Anatomy and Saving Grace, as well as films like Now and Then. In 2015 she played the killer title role in the limited series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, and her last major TV gig came in 2015 when she stared as Zelda Fitzgerald on Z: The Beginning of Everything for two years.Heerdegen, meanwhile, seems to have been quiet on the career front in recent years. He worked in the camera and electrical department from 2012-2014 on the CBS series Elementary, and he is also credited on the 2014 Michael Keaton twisted “superhero” tale Birdman. On June 21 Ricci posted a tribute to her husband for Father’s Day, sharing a photo of some homemade cards with the caption, “We [love] you Daddy!”[video_embed id='1986883']Before you go: Katy Perry opens up about the time her and Orlando Bloom broke up[/video_embed]
