Model, TV host and Cravings cookbook author Chrissy Teigen has been sharing the details of her third pregnancy with her Instagram followers for weeks. On Sunday night, Teigen gave fans her latest baby update, but this time it was from the hospital bed where she is currently staying. In a series of videos posted on Instagram Stories, Teigen revealed that the heavy bleeding she has been experiencing throughout her third pregnancy intensified in the last 24 hours, forcing the Lip Sync Battle host to be admitted to the hospital.“I'm about like halfway through pregnancy and the blood has been going on for like a month. Maybe a little bit less than a month. We're talking about more than your period girls. It's definitely not spotting. A lot of people spot and it's usually fine. Mine was a lot,” said Teigen while filming from her hospital bed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Continuing, Teigen described her bleeding as much more than the average pregnancy spotting, saying it is as if someone were to “turn a faucet onto low and leave it there."[video_embed id='2033234']RELATED: Chrissy Teigen says she’s off social media for her mental health[/video_embed]Earlier this month, Teigen revealed that she had been put on bed rest because of heavy bleeding. Teigen, who is married to musician John Legend, said that her weak placenta previously caused extensive bleeding during her pregnancies with daughter Luna, 4, and son Miles, 2, an occurrence that has intensified this time around. In the new set of videos posted on September 27, Teigen said that she has been strict about bedrest and only getting up to use the bathroom and take a bath twice a week. Still, the complications and bleeding have continued to intensify.Teigen said that the good news is that she feels great and the baby, who she revealed on September 17 is a boy, has continued growing and moving regularly. "I feel really good, the baby's so healthy. Growing stronger than Luna or Miles. He moves a lot, so much earlier than they ever did,” said Teigen. "He's so strong and I'm just so excited for him because he's so wonderful and just the strongest little dude. I can't wait for him."
Legend and Teigen announced their pregnancy earlier this year in the EGOT winner's music video for “Wild.” On Sunday, Teigen said that while physically she feels good, she is of course concerned about keeping her baby safe and reaching the halfway mark in her pregnancy. "He is the strongest, coolest dude in the shittiest house. His house is just falling apart, it didn’t have a good foundation to begin with," said Teigen about her placenta. "He didn’t have the strongest chance at the very beginning so all we're doing now is trying to make sure that he's got a lot of fluid around him and that I'm resting obviously as much as possible. And it's just hard because there's not much that you can do."Teigen thanked her followers for their well wishes but asked that medical professionals who follow her on social media refrain from giving her advice or making guesses about her diagnosis. “I have very good doctors who know the entire story,” said Teigen. The model ended her series of videos by posting a tutorial from husband John on how to make the perfect bedtime sandwich. Don’t let the cheese touch the bread, make sure the bread is buttered and microwave the ham to get rid of any listeria. Most importantly, give pregnant women whatever they want.
