Warning: the following may be triggering for some readers as it discusses pregnancy loss. The heat from the blazing dumpster fire that is 2020 has been felt by all of us, even seemingly charmed couples like Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. In September, the couple revealed that they had suffered the terrible loss of Teigen’s pregnancy after sharing their joy on social media over the idea of adding a third child to their family. Chrissy and John, who regularly share intimate moments from their personal lives online, let the public in
on their heartbreak, too. Now they’re channelling it into a new charitable initiative that will help families and children facing their own health challenges. In a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, Teigen and Legend are aiming to help raise $100 million so that children receiving medical treatment at facilities far from home can still have their families close by. "Anyone who knows us, knows that the most important thing to us is family. When you're able to lean on loved ones, the hard times always get a little easier," said the pair
in a statement. "We can't imagine how agonizing it must be when you're not able to be there with your sick child. We were inspired by McDonald's longtime commitment to RMHC, and now we want the world to know how we can all take action to support this amazing charity through the #HereForRMHC challenge."Teigen used her social media platform to inform her 33 million followers about the initiative, sharing an adorable video of herself with Legend plus
an additional photo in which she schools Legend on how to do the semi-official RMHC Heart House hand sign.

The company has promised to contribute up to $100 million — and with Teigen and Legend as supporters, they’re likely to hit that target."Wanting the best for your children and wanting to keep families together, for us, is insanely important," said Teigen on
Good Morning America. "What they're doing is so incredible and so beautiful... I am so proud to support it."Chrissy also once again thanked all her and John's fans for the support and love as they continue to process their unimaginable loss. "I had thousands of letters written to me. Obviously it's so painful to go through something like this as a woman — someone who was inside your body that you're nurturing and taking care of — but obviously there's a father involved and the support for the both of us has just been so beautiful, so incredible," she said.[video_embed id='1607372']BEFORE YOU GO: New book opens up the dialogue on infertility and pregnancy loss [/video_embed]
