A six-year-old boy is proving that the world is in need of everyday heroes too and he’s got an entire celebs squad backing him up. Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and other non-MCU famouses have come together in a virtual show of support for Bridger Walker, a boy from Cheyenne, Wyoming who recently saved his little sister from a dog attack. It all started when Bridger’s aunt, Nicole Walker, shared her nephew’s story on Instagram on July 11. “My nephew is a hero who saved his little sister from an attacking dog. He, himself, took on the attack so that the dog wouldn’t get his sister,” she wrote. “He later said, ‘If someone was going to die, I thought it should be me.’ He got home from the hospital last night. I know it’s a long shot, but I’m reaching out to the Avengers and other heroes so that they can learn about this latest addition to their ranks.”
In
a separate post, Walker revealed that, “after getting bit several times on the face and head, he grabbed his sister’s hand and ran with her to keep her safe.” She added that Bridger needed roughly 90 stitches to treat his injuries and though he still can’t grin as wide as he used to, the healing process has begun. That didn’t stop him from sporting a smile when cast members of the MCU answered his aunt’s call, though.[video_embed id='1874622']RELATED: Man ordered the Chris Evans 'Knives Out' sweater but got something very different[/video_embed]“Dear Bridger, I just read about what happened to you and I wanted to reach out to say this... People who put the well beings of others in front of themselves are the most heroic and thoughtful people I know,” Mark Ruffalo (aka The Hulk) wrote in the comments. “I truly respect and admire your courage and your heart. Real courage isn't dominating people or fighting against people or walking around like a tough guy. Real courage is knowing what is right to do and doing it even when it might end up hurting you somehow. You are more of a man than many, many I have seen or known. With Admiration...Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner/Hulk/Professor).”Chris Evans also took the time to reach out to the young boy and send a personal video message. “Pal, you’re a hero. What you did is so brave, so selfless. Your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother. You parents must be so proud of you,” he said, promising to send Bridger an official Captain America shield of his own. “Keep being the man you are, we need people like you.”
They weren’t the only celebrities who were moved enough to reach out either. Robbie Amell called him “a real hero” and wished him a speedy recovery. Vanessa Morgan wrote, “So brave!!! Best big brother & true hero. Get better soon.” And Octavia Spencer joined the conversation by saying, “I'm not an avenger but I know and appreciate them as I appreciate your little hero. Angel hugs for you.”
It seems like that’s just the beginning of the star power coming Bridger’s way, too. His aunt updated followers on July 15, adding that they have no ill-will towards the dog or the dog’s owners and that the family is overwhelmed by the support. “When I first posted for Bridger, I expected maybe 500 likes at most and maybe a couple dozen reshares. But here we are. So much love from all walks of life (including a few celebs)! Bridger is over the moon! Can’t wait to show him what’s next: a message from some guy who doesn’t like bullies. Gotta wait for the stardust to clear from his eyes first, though. Mission accomplished, everyone! We can’t thank you enough.”[video_embed id='1994817']BEFORE YOU GO: Police say Naya Rivera saved son before drowning[/video_embed]
