Cara Delevingne and Kaia Gerber get matching ‘solemate’ tattoos

Cara Delevingne and Kaia Gerber are solidifying their connecting with a permanent sign of friendship. Hopefully. (Matching tattoos can sometimes be the curse that preemptively ends a good thing.) To celebrate Delevingne’s 28^th birthday on August 12, Gerber shared a handful of images of the pair together, including one photo that clearly displayed matching "solemate" tattoos on their feet. The model posted a picture of her foot next to Delevingne’s foot, showcasing the pair’s matching pun tattoo.Gerber also shared several images in her Instagram stories of the pair posing together, including one taken at a recent rally. Both women are wearing face masks and Gerber has her arms around Delevingne, captioning the image “Best protest buddy.”In a third image, Delevingne is posing while wearing a sweater with Gerber’s face on the front. “The only person who wears my face on a sweatshirt,” wrote Gerber.Gerber and Delevingne have not posted many photos together in the past and appear to have recently become fast friends. The duo did upload an image of themselves at the end of July sharing one of the cardigans from Taylor Swift’s new Folklore merch line. “We love our CARDIGAN,” wrote Gerber, who included Swift’s new single in her Instagram stories.On Monday, Delevingne posted a series of photos with actor Margaret Qualley, captioning the album “I’m not cute, you are @margaretqualley.” Gerber commented on the post, writing “I feel lucky to know you both.” People is reporting that the trio have been spending much of their time in quarantine together along with Qualley’s sister, Rainey Qualley.Delevingne and Gerber’s solemate tattoos are the latest for their respective collections. Delevingne already has a massive assortment of ink, including a lion on her finger and a full colour ode to the animal on her arm, an elephant, a diamond in her ear, a large Yanta tattoo on the back of her neck and several more pieces.Delevingne has previously gone for matching tattoos, with her Suicide Squad co-star Margot Robbie, whom she also let tattoo her during filming. Robbie famously gave many of her Suicide Squad castmates tattoos, including Delevingne, who received a smiley face on her big toe similar to one Robbie already had inked on her foot.In July 2019, fans noticed that Delevingne and girlfriend Ashley Benson had also been inked with matching tattoos. Each actor had their partner’s initials tattooed on their ribcage. The pair split earlier this year, but their ink will last forever. Or until they have it removed or tattoo something else overtop. Wino forever, amirite?Gerber also has several tattoos, including a small bouquet of flowers on her wrist and a heart on her shoulder.The daughter of Randy Gerber and Cindy Crawford got some new ink earlier this year with her brother Presley, also a model. Presley has ‘KAIA XXIII’ on his left tricep, a sweet honour to his little sister that is much more subtle compared to his other ink. Presley made headlines in February when he tattooed the word "Misunderstood" on his face.
