Bryan Cranston reveals he has recovered from COVID-19

The 'Breaking Bad' star has now donated his plasma for research.

Bryan Cranston revealed this week that coronvairus hit America’s other dad, a reminder that this deadly virus knocks for everyone. On Thursday, Cranston shared his positive diagnosis on his Instagram page, adding that he has since made a full recovery. The Emmy winner listed his symptoms, which were thankfully relatively mild, and reminded his followers to remain vigilant about wearing a mask and physical distancing. The Breaking Bad star also shared a video of his experience donating plasma, which as Cranston showed was painless and came with a great movie selection.“I was pretty strict in adhering to the protocols and still… I contracted the virus,” wrote Cranston. “Yep. it sounds daunting now that over 150,000 Americans are dead because of it.” Cranston said he was one of the lucky ones who only exhibited mild symptoms, including a loss of taste and smell, headaches, and a tightness of the chest. Cranston did not say when he was infected but did confirm that he tested positive early when the virus was still relatively new to North America.
In the video shared on Instagram, Cranston visits the U.C.L.A. Blood & Platelet Center, where he donated his plasma to help researchers study antibodies that could help discover an effective treatment for COVID-19. Cranston joked with his phlebotomists throughout the procedure and passed the time by watching the 1957 film A Face in the Crowd.Cranston donated his plasma at the same center where fellow actor Tom Hanks made a donation in April. Like Cranston, Hanks has also encouraged others who have recovered from coronavirus to donate their plasma, saying it was as easy as taking a nap. Yeah science!Urging people to remain vigilant, Cranston wrote, “About now you’re probably feeling a little tied down, restricting your mobility and like me, you’re tired of this! Well, I just want to encourage you to have a little more patience.” Reminding followers to “keep wearing the damn mask,” Cranston ended his post by writing “We can prevail - but ONLY if we follow the rules together. Be well - Stay well.”Cranston is the latest celebrity to reveal that he tested positive for COVID-19. As the virus continues to ravage many countries, especially the US, more celebrities are coming forward with their positive test results. Most recently, actor Anna Camp and tennis pro Novak Djokovic confirmed they tested positive for COVID-19.As pandemic fatigue begins to set in, many other celebrities are also using their social media platforms to remind followers to continue wearing their masks and practice safe physical distancing measures, as well as frequent hand washing.
