That’s right, Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, got married yesterday! The 21-year-old conservationist posted an intimate wedding photo to her Instagram account with the caption, “No words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now.” Love and light is totally what we need and a wedding is just the ticket. The Dancing With the Stars champion and her long-time love, Chandler Powell, were married at the Australia Zoo in Queensland in a small ceremony just hours before the Australian lockdown, which took effect today. Under this lockdown, no more than five people are allowed to be an attendance at weddings, including the couple, witnesses and officiant.

Irwin’s mom, Terri, helped her get ready and little bro, Robert, walked her down the aisle in her father’s place. There were no guests which was a “tough decision,” Irwin wrote, as they wanted to keep “everyone safe.”[video_embed id='1927854']BEFORE YOU GO: Wedding industry facing challenges from COVID-19[/video_embed]Irwin and Powell met at the Australia Zoo seven years ago and have been a couple since. Irwin, who resembles her father in more than just looks, has been surrounded by animals since she was an infant. It’s no wonder they held their private moment surrounded by their BFFs…the animals we mean. First appearing on camera when she was just a few weeks old, Bindi and Robert went on to become regulars on dad’s The Crocodile Hunter. Steve Irwin passed away in 2006.At the ceremony, the couple paid tribute to her father: “We lit a candle in [his] memory.” The day before her nuptials, the new bride posted a pic of father and young daughter, thanking him for always being her “guiding light.”

The couple also reminded everyone to practice social distancing and encouraged us to “hold onto hope and love.” Her new hubby also commented on her post: “Best day of my life. I love you so much.” Cheers to the happy couple![video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Working from home is tough with a cat this feisty[/video_embed]
