Physical distancing and isolation orders may still be in effect for most of the world, but the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards found a way to keep the show going. On Saturday, the slime-loving award show became one of the first major awards shows to go completely virtual. Actor Victoria Justice hosted the event from her home and several big-name winners, including Ariana Grande, BTS, Shawn Mendes, Kristen Bell and more accepted their awards from the safety of their own home. Saturday’s show also included a reunion of the Avengers: Endgame cast who along with the cast of Stranger Things were the big winners this year.Streaming online on Saturday night, the show managed to capture much of the high energy it’s known for thanks to video submissions by winners. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was addressed throughout, with winners giving messages of support and Justice announcing early on that Nickelodeon would be donating $1 million to Feeding America.Avengers: Endgame won this year’s award for Favorite Movie and featured a mini reunion of the superhero cast. Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Jeremy Renner came together to film a short video for the award show. The two Chrises argued over who was the strongest, while Downey Jr.’s appearance after the shocking ending on Avengers: Endgame prompted some surprised looks from the cast. Apparently, Iron Man is simply social distancing and still very much with us. The A-list group pushed the message of being ‘stronger together,’ calling all their young viewers the ‘true superheroes.’[video_embed id='1679245']RELATED: This Avengers-inspired haircut is a work of art[/video_embed]

Shawn Mendes won two awards on Saturday, including Favourite Male Artist and Favourite Music Collaboration for “Senorita.” Mendes and girlfriend Camila Cabello uploaded a video thanking their fans, joking that they were disappointed about missing out on the show’s green slime and planned on making their own organic option. Kristen Bell was in full Anna-mode while accepting the award for Favourite Animated Movie for Frozen 2, flanked on both sides by the rest of her cast. Kinda. Bell’s co-star Josh Gad accepted his own award for Favourite Male Voice From An Animated Movie for his work as Olaf. "A little Nickelodeon Blimp flew in to surprise me. I'm so excited because this is the closest I'm gonna get to air transportation right now," said Gad. Dwayne Johnson was also a (literally) big winner on Saturday night, taking home the blimp for Favourite Movie Actor and using his speech to encourage others to stay positive and to tease friend and frequent co-star Kevin Hart. It was a very on-brand night for Johnson. "I want you to stay positive. I want you to stay happy. I want you to stay healthy. I want you to go to bed tonight feeling great. Because, however old you are, around the world, just know that you are still bigger than Kevin Hart," said Johnson. "I love you guys."[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Baby & daddy going a little crazy during quarantine[/video_embed]
