We’re not even one full month into 2020 and it’s already felt like an extremely long year. That’s why when there are moments of joy, we don’t question them and instead relish in their goodness. Take for example the new Audi Super Bowl ad that features
Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams singing “Let It Go” from Frozen. We don’t get it, but we love it and appreciate it.The cold doesn’t bother Arya Stark in the new Audi ad, or probably anywhere. After finding herself in gridlock traffic, the English actor begins belting out her favourite Disney track. Again, there doesn’t seem to be any reason why Audi, Arya and Princess Anna are overlapping in this Venn Diagram, but it’s joyful and we’re not questioning joyful things. Plus, this may be the closest thing viewers are getting to an Arya-centric GoT spinoff and frankly, it’s nice to see the woman who killed the Night King and saved the Seven Kingdoms get to relax with some power steering and heated seats.
The Audi in the ad is the news sustainable e-tron Sportback, so maybe the commercial is intended to act as a reminder that if climate change isn’t taken more seriously, the world will melt and freeze at the same time. Again, not questioning, just enjoying. Williams recorded her version of the Oscar-winning
Frozen song at Abbey Road and applauded the car manufacturer’s commitment to sustainability. “Creating a sustainable, livable future for generations to come is the world’s most important challenge,”
said Williams, who added “I’m proud to share Audi’s vision for sustainable mobility in this global brand campaign.”[video_embed id='-1']RELATED: Talking parrot predicts the winner of Super Bowl LIV[/video_embed]The GoT star is one of many celebs who will be helping to sell products during the commercial breaks for Sunday’s Super Bowl. New ads have already started popping up online, including the commercial for Amazon Alexa, which co-stars married couple Ellen DeGeneres and Porta de Rossi. DeGeneres shared the full commercial on her daytime talk show on Wednesday, because as she said, she has a television show and she has the power. It’s good to be Ellen. It’s also good to have Alexa and not have to rely on your buddy with a jug to play your favourite song.
Fellow TV host Jimmy Fallon also got in on the Super Bowl action this year, teaming up with Michelob Ultra and wrestler and actor John Cena to find workouts that are fun. The pair run track with Usain Bolt, golf with Brooks Koepka, and play volleyball with Kerrilee Walsh and Brooke Sweat, all while receiving a live playlist courtesy of The Roots. In conclusion, working out is fun if you have access to the greatest musicians and athletes in the world. Otherwise, it still sucks.
And since it’s not the Super Bowl until a classic movie is spoofed, Mountain Dew is advertising their new Mountain Dew Zero with a nod to
The Shining starring Bryan Cranston and Tracee Ellis Ross. Maybe Jack Torrance’s biggest issue was that he was thirsty?
