Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney said ‘I do’ on Saturday and their wedding was a weekend affair that included a guest list that could rival any of the Oscar after parties the Academy Award-winning actor has attended. But in this case, Lawrence was the bride and didn’t have to share the spotlight (grooms are Best Supporting Actors at most).The couple, who confirmed their
engagement in February, began dating in June 2018 after being introduced by friends. Lawrence
spoke with podcaster Catt Sadler earlier this year and confirmed that she’s planning on taking her 34-year-old art dealer husband’s last name personally, with the 29-year-old actor keeping her maiden name professionally. Calling Cooke her ‘best friend,’ Lawrence said she was relaxed about planning her Rhode Island wedding, even releasing her
wedding registry last month.
THE REHEARSAL DINNER
The couple hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday night for 140 guests and threw a traditional
Rhode Island clambake for friends and family.
THE DRESS
As a spokeswoman for Dior it should come as no surprise that Lawrence wore a dress by the famous fashion house. Maroney matched his bride in a black Dior tux.
THE GUEST LIST

(kidding!). Amy Schumer, Adele,
Kris Jenner, Corey Gamble, Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden, Cameron Diaz and husband Benji Madden, director David O. Russell, Sienna Miller and Emma Stone were all in attendance at both the rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.
THE VENUE
Lawrence and Maroney were wed at the
Belcourt at Newport in Rhode Island. The mansion was designed in 1894 by American architect Richard Morris Hunt and its design was reportedly inspired by Louis XIII’s hunting lodge at Versailles. The home currently belongs to Alex and Ani CEO Carolyn Rafaelian.
THE WEDDING FOOD
Food was served family style as guests were treated to smoked fish, beef, squash, heirloom carrots and more during the wedding reception, which was set up with long tables. Once dinner had been served, a DJ helped getting guests dancing to wedding classics like the Jackson 5 and Aretha Franklin. Attendees snacked on food from
Boston’s Baddest Burger Food Truck and Maine-y Lobstah, which included cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, veggie burgers and more.
THE DEETS
According to
E! News, most guests danced until 3 a.m. with the bride and groom as the last to leave the party at 5:30 a.m. The pair were spotted looking ‘happy but tired,’ with Lawrence wearing a long-sleeved jewel dress at the end of the night. Before the ceremony, guests were served drinks in copper mugs while waiting on the lawn.
