After seven full seasons of high school terror, is it any surprise that the single-initial-only villain(s) from Pretty Little Liars would already be threatening a comeback? That’s right, A is making a reported return to Rosewood as Warner Bros. (the company that owns HBO Max) has adopted the idea of a reboot, launching early development discussions with Riverdale creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.The series, which wrapped up in 2017, centred on a group of teenage girls trying to solve the disappearance of a close friend while constantly under threat from the mysterious A. This, while navigating the ordinary perils of high school (boyfriends, college admissions applications, on-trend accessorizing) along with the extraordinary (murder, kidnapping, teacher-student affairs, corrupt policing). Somehow, with each season, the villainous A would remain one step ahead and out of their reach.[video_embed id='2027804']RELATED: Lili Reinhart feels ‘like a prisoner’ filming ‘Riverdale’ in Canada[/video_embed]HBO Max, reports Variety, is currently in the process of building up a roster of shows that would appeal to a young adult audience, including a sequel to the six-season hit show Gossip Girl, which featured another teen with a secret identity. Real talk: we still don’t know what to think about Dan being unmasked as the titular Gossip Girl. And there’s more than one link between the two classic teen series. Actor Kelly Rutherford had roles on both Gossip Girl (as Serena’s icy socialite mother) and on the Pretty Little Liars spinoff, Perfectionists.

Pretty Little Liars was based on the series of YA books by author Sara Shepard and was adapted for TV by I. Marlene King. Aguirre-Sacasa has been involved in shows such as The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Glee, and Supergirl. A PLL reboot sounds like it will be right up his alley.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Terrier Dogs Play Hilarious Game of Peek-a-Boo[/video_embed]
