People think Anna Kendrick is this talking lemon on TikTok

Celebrities are more online than ever, what with the frequency of “finstagrams” (fake Instagrams), blind items (where anonymous tips, sometimes straight from the celeb’s mouth, are submitted to gossip sites like DeuxMoi) and straight up unsolicited celeb commentary on everything from beauty standards to *private matters*.

It used to be that a celeb’s PR would handle all their public statements and output, but now, that's almost odd. Everyone from Ashton Kutcher and Chris Pratt to William Shatner and Madonna seem to be running their own social media accounts, often with no filter. Which is why the internet is up in arms about a particular TikTok account, which many believe to be a front for an unknown celebrity.

Lemon Lady Secrets has taken TikTok by storm in recent months. The account -- where a woman disguises her face using a filter that super-imposes her eyes and mouth on a lemon and digitally alters her voice -- shares wild and harrowing stories with her audience, which often garner millions of views. She mostly talks about her dating disasters (like this one where she takes a man home but cannot remember his name, or this one where going commando backfired), but there’s something about her ability to weave a yarn and her delivery that has fans speculating she might be a famous storyteller.

Perhaps a Hollywood actress? Is this a way for a huge celeb to dish on all the things celebs aren’t allowed to dish? 

The biggest clue that she might be of the Tinsel Town elite is this story where she reveals she went on a disastrous date (of course) with a huge TV star who remains nameless throughout the story. She says they met via Instagram DM (hey, if it can work for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, why not a TV star and a lemon?!), which also may be a clue, seeing as how the one major way to get a celeb’s attention is to also be a celeb with a verified blue check mark.

In another video, she admits to being on Raya, which as we all know by now, is the exclusive dating app reserved for those with power, wealth, and influence (both Ben Affleck and Matthew Perry have been caught using Raya in the past, for example). 

Lemon Lady has yet to reveal her identity, but a quick look at the comments section of many of her videos has fan speculating. The reigning theory is that she could potentially be Pitch Perfect star Anna Kendrick. Why? The eye colour matches, and the size and shape of her teeth seem to also match. The smile, the laugh, the storytelling… could it be Anna?

But hark, there are many other theories. Canada’s own Rachel McAdams has been suggested, as has YouTuber Emma Chamberlain, and TikTok influencer @hellotefi (Estefania Vanegas Pessoa).

So who is it? WE NEED ANSWERS!

Luckily, other TikTok users are doing the Lord’s work, analysing Lemon Lady's videos for clues about her identity and sharing their findings with the internet. One such user is a dentist who trained at Harvard and goes by the handle  Dr. Sara (@veneercheck). She has been inspecting Lemon Lady’s incisors and has made some startling revelations. 

She is ruling out every reigning theory we have so far. It’s no Rachel McAdams, according to the above inspection and side-by-side comparison of their teeth.

It’s also no Anna Kendrick, as she reveals above. Gah!

A quick look through her TikTok videos reveals that she has discounted almost all of our reigning theories, including:

• Emma Chamberlain
• Lily Collins
• Iliza Shlesinger
• Natasha Lyonne

And the Lemon Lady herself discounted @heltefi, saying, "[Tefi] works at InStyle, she has 1.5 million followers. She's not going to be coming on here as a lemon talking about her butthole."

So far, the Lemon with a million stories is having a gas with all of the guesses, and made some self-deprecating jokes about her teeth being examined up close on the internet for all sleuths to inspect.
