Ye starts beef with Billie Eilish and Twitter draws comparisons to his Taylor Swift feud

Does Ye have an issue with young women in the music industry?

The artist formerly known as Kanye West has lit up his Instagram page again this week. On February 10th, he posted a screenshot of a viral headline that claimed Billie Eilish dissed Travis Scott during a recent concert, and Ye captioned his post demanding an apology or he'll pull out of his headlining gig at Coachella.

There's a lot to unpack there. ICYMI: On February 6th, the "Bad Guy" singer stopped her Atlanta concert mid-performance when she noticed an audience member was struggling to breathe. "You need an inhaler?" Billie asked, stopping the show and asking the surrounding fans to not crowd.

In the clips, we can see Billie pausing on stage while security and others rush to the audience member's aid. She then added, “I wait for people to be OK until I keep going."

Some viral tabloid sites ran with that last quote, suggesting it was a dig at rapper Travis Scott, who is accused of inciting moshing and violent crowds at his Astroworld Festival concert in Houston last year that left 10 people dead. He is currently the subject of several class action lawsuits and was dropped from the Coachella line-up.

Despite Billie never once mentioning Scott at any point during the incident at her concert, the "Jesus Walks" rapper ran with the perceived slight on his official IG, captioning his post with all-caps, demanding she apologize or he will withdraw from Coachella, where Billie is also on the marquee as a headliner.

"COME ON BILLIE WE LOVE YOU PLEASE APOLOGIZE TO TRAV AND TO THE FAMILIES OF THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THEIR LIVES," he began his caption in all caps.

"NO ONE INTENDED THIS TO HAPPEN TRAV DIDN’T HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WHEN HE WAS ON STAGE AND WAS VERY HURT BY WHAT HAPPENED."

Despite Scott being removed from the Coachella lineup, Ye then asserted that Scott will appear alongside him during his set, but warned, "NOW I NEED BILLIE TO APOLOGIZE BEFORE I PERFORM."

As almost all of Ye's IG posts tend to do, it went viral, and Billie herself commented on the post, writing, "literally never said a thing about travis. was just helping a fan."

Scott himself has yet to publicly respond to any of this, although he did "like" Ye's post, which many are calling disrespectful to the families of those who lost their lives during his performance. In addition, Twitter users and music fans cannot help but notice Ye's trend of going after famous, successful women for perceived slights or other small misunderstandings. Many are calling the "Gold Digger" rapper's behaviour indicative of deep misogyny and male entitlement.

Others are pointing out that this new beef is oddly reminiscent of Ye's infamous 2009 MTV Awards on-stage rant where he interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech, sparking long debate about how women's achievements are often undermined and interrupted by male anger and opinions.

One user even pointed out that Ye has quite often denigrated and demeaned the women in his personal life. He famously said he needed to take "30 showers" after breaking up with model Amber Rose, and now that his divorce with Kim Kardashian is getting ugly, just last week he used his IG to spark online beef about her parenting skills vis-a-vis their daughter using social media.

One user has an idea of how to rectify the situation should Ye actually make good on this threat and refuse to take the Coachella stage -- bring in the lady with the red scarf.

So far Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, nor Amber Rose have commented on this situation.
