Paris Hilton reportedly expecting her first child with fiancé Carter Reum

The fairytale continues for Paris Hilton. After a rough year last year, Page Six reports that the star is now pregnant and expecting her first child with fiancé and venture capitalist Carter Reum.

Hilton and Reum, both 40, got engaged in February after dating for a year, but they had been family friends for many years before that.

“He’s just my dream guy. … [Carter is] 100 percent [the one],” Hilton said on the Trend Reporter podcast in January. “We talk about [planning a wedding] all the time and planning our baby’s names and all of that. So, I’m really excited to just move on for the next step of my life, and finally just have like a real life."

She also revealed that they had been undergoing IVF treatments in hopes of getting pregnant, adding, “We have been doing the IVF, so I can pick twins if I like. Kim [Kardashian] is actually the one who told me about that. I didn’t even know anything about it.”

Back in 2020, Hilton told Britain’s Sunday Times that she's been super "inspired" by Kardashian's baby journey. Kardashian, of course, has four children. Her first two pregnancies were difficult, so she followed with two via surrogacy.

Hilton said, “I think every woman should do it because you can really control it and not have that ‘Oh my God, I need to get married’ … I’m obsessed with dressing them up. I want … twins."

It's all a sweet turn for Hilton, who in the 2020 YouTube Originals documentary This Is Paris (which is actually really very good and deserves a watch) revealed that she experienced emotional, verbal and physical abuse while attending a series of disciplinary boarding schools as a teenager, where she was forcibly placed by her parents. Since then, Hilton has been advocating for former students of such schools, and even testified on behalf of a proposed measure that would require more government oversight of youth residential treatment centres.

The doc also catalogued some of her more recent and allegedly abusive relationships, including with Nick Carter and Aleks Novakovic.

But, while speaking to People earlier this year about their engagement, Hilton raved about Reum and this new era.

"This past year with COVID has accelerated so many things," she said. "As someone who traveled constantly, I had a chance to stay home and reevaluate what was important to me. My relationship and the time I spent with Carter was a gift. I'm excited for our next chapter."

Reum added, "I have gotten the unique opportunity to get to know the real Paris on a daily basis just the two of us during these past 15 months and I couldn't be more excited and lucky to have her as my future wife and partner. She shines with her kindness, work ethic, authenticity and her voice in making the world a better place and she will do the same as a future mother and wife."

That's what we like to hear.
