Real talk: Zendaya could wear a trash bag with a belt on the red carpet and she would still make everyone’s best-dressed list. The woman is a fashion icon and she’s got legs ‘til Tuesday.

Luckily, she didn’t don any Hefty Bag couture yesterday as she attended the BET Awards. Instead, she decided to pay homage to one of the greatest fashionistas of the era – Beyoncé.

Back in 2003, Beyoncé wore a short purple Versace dress that dazzled with green highlights to the BET Awards as she performed a little-known mega-hit “Crazy In Love.”  2021 Zendaya decidedly went into the Versace archives because she paid tribute to that iconic moment in fashion history by wearing the long version of this dress. We are crazy in love with this.

Just in case you thought this might just be a happy coinkydink or Zendaya wasn’t aware of the gown’s history, when she posted about it on her Instagram, her caption read quite plainly, “Crazy In Love.”

Photographed by AB + DM, styled by Law Roach with hair by Kim Kimble, the Euphoria star also posted a few snaps of her dancing and strutting in this jaw-dropping, vibrant, and vivacious number.

Even stylist Law Roach posted about it on Instagram, cheering, “get you a stylist with a ARCHIVE!!!!"

And get you a model who can do both! The 24-year-old beauty paired the legendary dress with custom-dyed Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals, and Bulgari yellow diamonds. Wild to think that back in 2003, Queen Bey first donned the spring/summer short Versace dress when she was only 22! There may be 18 years between each moment, but Queen Bey and Zay prove that some lewks are timeless.

As one can imagine, Zendaya’s name was a trending topic on Twitter all Monday morning for her iconic tribute, with fans injecting this lewk into their veins for life

And one eagle-eyed fan noticed that basically the entire cast of Euphoria lost their collective minds over her Instagram post, with Hunter Schafer, Storm Reid, and Alexa Demie going gaga in the comments section.

This isn’t the first time reverential nods have passed between Beyoncé and Zendaya. Back in September when the Euphoria star turned 24, Queen Bey wished her a happy birthday on her website. Zendaya reacted the way we all would, posting, “Never shutting up about it.”
