Kim Kardashian is officially dropping the West from her name. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has filed to divorce Kanye West after seven years of marriage, according to TMZ. Sources say that "it's as amicable as a divorce can be."

Kim is reportedly asking for joint legal and physical custody of their four children: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, who turns 2 in May. Sources say that Kanye is fine with the joint custody agreement and that Kim and 'Ye are both committed to co-parenting together.

With most celebrity marriages comes a prenup and neither party is contesting it. TMZ reports that Kim and Kanye are already far along in reaching a property settlement agreement. The documents, filed by high-profile divorce attorney Laura Wasser, don't list a date of separation and list it as "to be determined," according to the outlet. But with all the social media and written reports about the potential divorce, the date is pretty trivial.

On Thursday it was reported that Kanye was having a hard time dealing with the possibility of a divorce from his estranged wife Kim. A source close to the rapper said that he was really struggling. "Kanye is not doing well," the source said. "He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and there's nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim."

Rumours of the divorce began in January after multiple sources confirmed that Kim was planning on ending her marriage of nearly seven years with Kanye. "They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family," a source close to the Kardashian family told People at the time. "And Kim is okay with it."

The couple attended marriage counselling earlier this year, but an insider confirmed that the pair are no longer bothering with the counselling. The divorce will play out heavily in the final episodes of the reality series.

A source close to the show said, “The Kardashians intend to go out with a bang. They’ve filmed Kim discussing her marriage problems. But everybody involved is on a nondisclosure agreement because the finale won’t screen until later in 2021.” Page Six reports that the break-down of their marriage will be the main final storyline of KUWTK.

Kanye has remained very quiet in 2021 since news of his divorce spread. Earlier this month, the couple continued to fuel divorce rumours after it was reported that 'Ye had been spotted moving 500 pairs of his sneakers from Kim's home. According to Page Six, West moved items from the home while Kim was in Turks and Caicos with the Kardashian family.

Kim and the "Through the Wire" rapper started dating in April 2012, while she was still legally married to Kris Humphries (but she ended that after 72 days of marriage). Her divorce was finalized from Humphries in June 2013. Kimye held a huge wedding ceremony in Florence, Italy, in May 2014, almost one year after welcoming their first child, North.

The couple had a very rocky year together in 2020 after Kanye launched his Presidential campaign on July 4 and held controversial rallies, where he disclosed personal information about his life with the Kardashians. During his first rally in South Carolina, Kanye told a story about a discussion he had with Kim involving an abortion when she was pregnant with North. After the rally, Kanye took to Twitter to say that he would "be at peace" if Kim decided to divorce him after sharing the news.

This will be Kim's third divorce. Prior to Humphries, she was married to music producer Damon Thomas; they divorced in 2004. This will be Kanye's first divorce.

Kim and Kanye haven't released a statement about their divorce as of this writing but be sure to keep an eye on the SKIMS founder's Instagram this weekend, just in case.
