Susan Kelechi Watson is single again. The This Is Us actor quietly announced that she and fellow actor Jaime Lincoln Smith have called it quits about a year after first announcing their engagement.“And I thought becoming Single was gonna be the only eventful thing to happen to me this year #TwentyTwenty,” Kelechi Watson revealed on her Instagram stories while celebrating Joe Biden and Kamala Harris winning the U.S. election on November 7. The announcement was certainly a little more lowkey than her engagement announcement post in September 2019.“Forever Ever,” the 38-year-old wrote at the time in a post that included a photo of a sapphire ring. “They’ll say its love And they’ll know its love For when they call its name it will answer to love Without hesitation.” The post (and all other posts involving Lincoln Smith) have since been deleted from the social media platform. At time of press Lincoln Smith hadn’t shared any updates on his own platforms, but he did also take a moment to also celebrate Harris’ historic win over the weekend. In an interview with Canadian late-night star Lilly Singh last November, Kelechi Watson revealed that the Blue Bloods actor had popped the question with an elaborate proposal plan involving a cannabis festival to throw her off. “He surprised me because he told me we were going to a cannabis festival—he wanted to throw me completely off,” she said at the time. “He was like, ‘Yeah, it’s where we learn how to put medicinal weed in brownies, and we’ll make brownies.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, OK.’ And then he was like, ‘But you gotta look cute, though,'” she continued.“So then, we drive, we turn into, like, a glasshouse church and I was like, ‘This don’t look like no cannabis festival. There’s a woman praying. I just don’t feel like this is it,'” the star continued. “Then we go into the church and by the time we walked in I realized, ‘Oh wait, something’s happening.’ And your mind starts to go slow and then all of a sudden he’s down on one knee.”These days Kelechi Watson may be single in real life, but onscreen she continues to celebrate the love she shares with her This Is Us husband, co-star Sterling K. Brown. Beth and Randall Pearson’s marriage continues to be #couplegoals for fans everywhere. Kelechi Watson recently proved as much by sharing photos of several real-life couples going as Beth and Randall for Halloween on her Instagram account. In addition to starring in This Is Us’ fifth season (which returned with a two-hour premiere in late October), the actor is also producing and starring in the upcoming HBO special Between the World and Me. The project, which is based on the groundbreaking book and stage play by Ta-Nehisi Coates, also stars Oprah Winfrey, Angela Bassett and Joe Morton. It debuts November 21.[video_embed id='-1']Before you go: Lazy greyhound refuses to budge for robot vacuum[/video_embed]
