Kendall Jenner threw her annual birthday/Halloween extravaganza this past weekend... in the midst of an ongoing global pandemic. We get that Halloween is all about celebrating scary, terrifying and deadly things, but not literally, Kendall. The supermodel attempted to take notes from the recent backlash to big sister Kim Kardashian’s birthday party and asked guests to not publicize the event. Guess how that went?Jenner’s annual bash took place on Saturday night and included a long list of celebrities who could have easily incorporated a mask into their costume. Seriously people, at least wear a mask. Justin and Hailey Bieber, The Weeknd, Paris Hilton, Jaden Smith, Justine Skye, Quavo, Winnie Harlow, Travis Scott and Saweetie all attended Saturday’s party. Jenner, who turns 25 on November 3, also celebrated with members of her family, including sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, as well as brother-in-law Kanye West and pseudo-brother-in-law Scott Disick. The party reportedly had a guest list of 100 people who all received rapid testing before entering Harriet's Rooftop at 1 Hotel in West Hollywood. Okay, so some precautions were taken, but let’s not forget that COVID tests can have a false negative. With cases at an all-time high in the US, did this party really need to happen? No. Just to be clear, the answer is no.[video_embed id='2064857']RELATED: Kim K dragged online for her extravagant private island b-day[/video_embed]Pictures from Jenner’s party quickly began surfacing online even though images showed signage requesting that guests not post any photos on social media. This messaging was likely Jenner’s attempt to sidestep the recent controversy surrounding big sister Kim Kardashian’s 40th birthday party, which included a trip for 25 of the reality star's closest friends and family members to a private island. At least Kardashian acknowledged in her social media posts that there is a pandemic going on.Unfortunately for Jenner, guests ignored her request and posted photos of their elaborate costumes, including sister Kylie Jenner, who obviously did not read the bright orange sign. Or the room. The makeup mogul shared several pictures from the party on her Instagram stories and posted a shot of herself in her Thierry Mugler Halloween costume as King Cobra.

The Weeknd, who looked unrecognizable in his costume as Eddie Murphy in The Nutty Professor, shared several videos from the party, which showed a packed indoor event. The current guidelines in California limit indoor gatherings to no more than three households, so it’s not even clear how this party was legal.

Canadian supermodel Winnie Harlow also shared pics from the party and revealed her Bride of Frankenstein, costume along with Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who at least wore a mask.

As for the birthday girl, she dressed up as Pamela Anderson from her role in Barbed Wire. Jenner shared photos of her transformation on Instagram while also encouraging her followers to vote. Could she also encourage them to stay home and wear a mask?

Understandably, people who have lost their loved ones, their jobs, their ability to walk through a grocery store without having a panic attack, etc., were not impressed. Jaden Smith is also being called out for what appears to be a COVID patient costume. Pictures of Smith wearing an oxygen mask surfaced online, with many of the images showing Smith next to Justin Bieber, who earlier this year revealed he had been diagnosed with Lyme disease. The autoimmune disease makes Bieber more susceptible to COVID. It’s so many terrible decisions in one frame. Sure, the argument can be made that Jenner’s party helped provide jobs for the bar and restaurant industry that has been devastated by the COVID-19 pandemic. But instead of throwing a party and putting the lives of servers and security guards in danger, couldn’t Jenner have safely enjoyed a quiet night at home while still making a massive donation to the venue and tagging them in a social media posts?[video_embed id='-1']Before you go: This man may have captured a ghost on camera while filming his dog [/video_embed]
