Looks like there was something to those engagement rumours after all. Nothing makes or breaks a couple like a prolonged quarantine and it appears Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich are made. for each other. Four months after the world learned that Demi and the
Young and the Restless star were dating and living in lockdown together, the couple is officially engaged.“When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ - something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent,” Lovato shared on Instagram on July 23, along with a sweet series of photos capturing the beachy proposal. “To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.”
Before we go any further... peep. that. ring.Ehrich popped the question in Malibu with a giant emerald-cut diamond ring with a custom setting from celeb jeweler Peter Marco,
according to People. The photos Lovato shared were snapped, shortly after Ehrich got down on one knee, courtesy of photographer Angelo Kritikos, who was hiding behind a rock.“I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” Lovato continued in her post to her
new fiancé. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honoured to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”It seems Ehrich is just as over-the-moon (and why wouldn't he be?), sharing more photos from the shoot on his own socials and taking the moment to express his loving feelings toward his bride-to-be. “You are every love song, every film, every lyric, every poem, everything I could ever dream of and then some in a partner in life,”
he shared. “Words cannot express how infinitely in love with you I am forever and always and then some. I cannot spend another second of my time here on Earth without the miracle of having you as my wife. here’s to forever baby.”
Although news that Ehrich and Lovato were dating broke in March, they didn’t publicly confirm their relationship until May when they were one of the couples featured in the music video for Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber’s collaboration, “Stuck With U.” Before that, they tried to keep their newfound status to themselves, aside from some cute flirting in the comments of each other’s posts and that time Lovato hilariously
accidentally crashed one of Ehrich’s Instagram Live performances. Since making things official, they’ve been sharing
all of the PDAs on social media.Fans and friends seem to be pretty pumped about the relationship too—Lovato’s engagement post amassed almost five million likes in the first eight hours and plenty of the couple’s famous friends have been sending in their virtual congrats on the happy news. Khloe Kardashian, Sarah Paulson, Becky G., Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Lambert and more quickly shared heart emojis and well wishes in the comments. “Congratulations!!! So amazing. So happy for you,” wrote Avril Lavigne. “This is incredible! So happy for you both!!!!!!!!” added Ashley Graham.[video_embed id='1930764']RELATED: Will online weddings become more common the longer COVID-19 is around? [/video_embed]It’s probably fair to say that while many people are out to cancel 2020, Lovato has been using it to make one heck of a comeback. In January, she gave a
powerful performance at the Grammys; in February, she sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl; and all along the way she's been opening up about her mental health journey to help others cope. Next up, the “I Love Me” singer is ready to share even more details of that years-long process in an upcoming
YouTube documentary series. A follow-up to her 2017 YouTube Originals documentary,
Simply Complicated, this series will look at the time that led up to and included a serious overdoes in July 2018.“I think when you have certain people around you that are telling you certain things that you should look a certain way, it makes it harder,” Lovato
revealed to Ashley Graham on her podcast,
Pretty Big Deal, earlier this year. “I was in that situation, and I was just running myself into the ground. I honestly think that’s kind of what led to everything happening over the past year was just me thinking I found recovery when I didn’t, and then living this kind of lie and trying to tell the world I was happy with myself when I really wasn’t.”Well, here’s to all of the happiness for the 27-year-old for years to come.[video_embed id='1998338']BEFORE YOU GO: New details revealed about Princess Beatrice's wedding [/video_embed]
