Swifties around the world have been saying for years that Taylor cares about their well-being and listens to her fans in need. Now Rolling Stone is reporting that the ‘Shake It Off’ songstress, Cats performer (and purveyor of cats), has extended a helping hand to a Nashville record shop during a time of financial crisis.Small businesses around the world are feeling the pinch since the outbreak of the COVID-19 global pandemic, and closures of all non-essential workplaces from Toronto to Tennessee has seen a massive spike in unemployment and foreclosures. Enter Taylor Swift, who at a young age travelled to Nashville to kick-start her music career, with an offer of financial support for Nashville record shop Grimey’s New & Preloved Music, which is considered one of the 10 best record stores in America. According to the report, Taylor is subsidizing the store with money for each employee and three months’ worth of healthcare after the shop had to send all its employees home.[video_embed id='1710274']RELATED: Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have finally ended their feud[/video_embed]Co-owner Doyle Davis told Rolling Stone, “Taylor generously offered some direct relief to my staff and to cover three months of our healthcare costs for our group-insurance plan. It’s a huge deal to us, and now I have some peace of mind ... This assistance from Ms. Swift helps give us a real shot at coming back on the other side of this.”We are truly moved by Taylor’s unexpected and unsolicited offer of financial support, but really, we shouldn’t be surprised. She has a history of making generous contributions to her fans in their times of need. Nashville has always been a priority for her charitable contributions, like her whopping $1 million donation to its tornado relief, but when it comes to Taylor, there’s always more.NME reported recently that she donated $3000 each to three fans suffering a loss of income during the COVID-19 outbreak. She also is doing her part to raise awareness and spread the word that we all need to stay home to flatten the curve by posting a plea to her Insta-Stories recently. “This is the time to cancel plans, actually truly isolate as much as you can and don’t assume that because you don’t feel sick that you aren’t possibly passing something on to someone elderly or vulnerable to this,” she wrote. So while some still insist on calling her a “snake” and a “liar,” with the evidence presented in front of us, we are gonna go with our gut on this one and say Taylor Swift is displaying the kindness and generosity the world needs right now.[video_embed id='-1']BEFORE YOU GO: Brother and sister try out a new Snapchat filter with hysterical results[/video_embed]
