‘The Launch’ is coming back and it’s bigger than ever (literally)

It “Ain’t Easy” waiting for The Launch to return to CTV, but with production set to begin next week, we have our first look at what season 2 is going to look like. Things are a little different this time around with a new format that packs as much music and action into the time slot as possible and a new hosting position filled by none other than etalk’s very own Liz Trinnear.

The first wave of celebrity mentors have also been announced including iconic Canadian Sarah McLachlan, singer-songwriter-producer Ryan Tedder (who produced last year’s Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine hit, Ain’t Easy) and Arkells frontman Max Kerman.

Big Machine Records founder and originator of The Launch Scott Borchetta will also be returning as a permanent weekly mentor along with Quebec’s Queen of Pop, Marie-Mai.

“I’m truly so excited to kick off Season 2 of THE LAUNCH!” Borchetta said in a press release, “We have great artistic talent from all across Canada, a new permanent second-seat mentor with the amazingly talented Marie-Mai, and we’ve landed the host with the absolute most, Liz Trinnear.

“Ryan (Tedder) is coming back and is so fired up about producing another LAUNCH winner, Sarah McLachlan will be amazing to work with as will my new friend Max Kerman… LETS. ROCK. THE. LAUNCH. S2!”

Looks like we can expect even more talent and viral pop hits coming out of next season. Production officially begins September 26 and the new season is set to premiere in early 2019.
