A Katy Perry superfan named Becky got the best birthday wish ever when her girlfriend Katie proposed to her onstage at the singer’s Brooklyn concert Wednesday night. Perry brought the women onto the stage, where she pretended to be meeting them for the first time.

“You said you had a wish,” Perry said to Katie. “Well this is a shooting star.” The singer then handed the mic over for the big moment.

“I don’t know if y’all have seen Becky, but she’s pretty even without any makeup on,” Katie began, quoting Perry’s Teenage Dream while the singer hugged the stunned Becky.

“And she’s perfect anytime she tells the punchline wrong,” Katie added before getting down on one knee and asking “Becky, will you marry me?” at which point the crowd and Perry completely lost it.

Spoiler alert: she said yes!

Perry posted the proposal to her Instagram story and her fans just can’t get enough of it.  It was just a few months ago that Perry received the National Equality Award from the Human Rights Campaign. In her acceptance speech, she talked about her Christian upbringing and how she has since shifted her views, as evidenced by her 2008 song I Kissed a Girl and by her work speaking out for the LGBTQ community.

“I stand here as real evidence for all that no matter where you came from it is about where you are going,” she said at the HRC Gala, “That real change, real evolution, and that real perception shift can happen, if we open our minds and soften our hearts.”

Well, she certainly softened some hearts in Brooklyn and around the world last night.
