Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber may count one of the world's most famous couples as friends, but Crawford says her favourite times with George and Amal Clooney may not be as glamorous as you'd expect.
"Their wedding was pretty spectacular, I have to say that," she tells Lainey in a Canadian entertainment exclusive. "But for the most part our favourite times are low key, hanging out at the house, just like you do with your regular friends."
Crawford has spent considerable time with the couple, as they've vacationed in Cabo together, inspiring Gerber and Clooney to start their own tequila business.
She says she loves seeing George with "a real substantial woman."
"Amal is obviously beautiful, but she's the whole package," she says. "Now George has this woman that he's really in love with, and she's smart and engaging and interesting."
Crawford was in Toronto Thursday night to celebrate the first Saks store opening in the city in early 2016, and to discuss her book "Becoming," in which she shares stories and lessons from her life.
"Really the whole impetus for the book was to celebrate turning 50 [next year]," she says. "I wanted it to share the lessons that I've learned along the way and the only way to do that is by writing."
These days she also finds herself imparting lessons from her career to her 14-year-old daughter Kaia, who has dipped her toes into the modeling world.
While her success as a supermodel is largely unparalleled, Crawford admits her kids have been largely oblivious to it.
As Kaia and 16-year-old son Presley grow older, however, there are certain experiences that really wow them.
"What really impresses my kids is if another famous person that they are fans of will say hi to me," she says. "Or when Taylor Swift asked me to be in her [Bad Blood] video. It was like, you must be cool if Taylor Swift thinks you're cool."
